RESPONSIBILITIES

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

This position reports to the Senior Teacher/ Assistant Senior Teacher

Role:

To lead the teachers in working towards the Division, Centre and programme goals in close partnership with the Therapists, Social Workers, Psychology Associates, Administrative Staff and Families of the children.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Overseeing the Curriculum:

Assist the Senior Teacher to

• Ensure that the programme is effective in achieving learning objectives and differentiated to meet individual students IEP goals.

Mentorship and coaching

• Supervise Lead Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and Teacher Aides in their responsibilities within their respective scope of work.
• Mentor and motivate the teachers for quality teaching in areas including child engagement, naturalistic teaching strategies, differentiation in approaches, positive behaviour support.
• Responsible for the professional development of their supervisees.
• Conduct annual performance appraisals for their supervisees.

Process and Resources Management:

Assist the Senior Teacher to

• Ensure the smooth running of all related processes of the early intervention programme
• Manage manpower matters including deployment and leave applications
• Orientate new teachers to the Centres ethos, processes and their job scope
• Manage volunteers
• Establish and maintain timeline for various submissions
• Monitor and maintain the effectiveness of pre-cases, IEP reviews and case conferences
• Manage Centre resources
• Ensure centres compliance to various regulatory requirements
• Oversee the requisition of resources, and monetary claims

• Minimum Degree
• Recognised training e.g. Specialised Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs), Higher Certificate in Autism
• More than 5 years of experience in early intervention, working with families and children

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: S$ 55.29 per hour (Point 0) to S$ 65.81 per hour (Point 4). This applies to non-permanent residents and non-Singaporean citizens. For permanent residents and Singapore citizens, the hourly rate is inclusive of the employer’s CPF contribution. The starting point on the scale is according to qualifications and experience. A pension contribution has already been factored into the salary.
• Work Schedule: Hourly Paid Teacher willingness to teach across weekends and evening weekdays is desired.
• Contract type: Fixed term, 24 months (Renewable)
