The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project in partnership with industry collaborator where you will be part of the research team to develop both 5G and satellite-based connectivity testbed, integrating the heterogenous wireless networks, for end user devices used typically in maritime applications. Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake these responsibilities in the research project:
  i. Design and develop connectivity testbed with optimal router configurations and gateway setups for heterogenous wireless networks.
  ii. Perform 5G network, quality of service and radio coverage measurements in specific port-based locations in the southern coastlines of Singapore along with the industry partner.
  iii. Integrate edge devices and sensors used typically in maritime operations with the connectivity testbed enabling ship-to-shore communication.
  iv. Perform basic radio coverage modeling and simulations leading to analysis of maritime scenarios and their impact on network planning
  v. Interpret and carry-out investigative data-analysis with correlation of measurement results
• Coordinate very closely with research team and industry partner in the project execution and in the procurement, process including liaison with test and measurement equipment/services vendors/suppliers.
• Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co- PIs and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.

Job Requirements:

• Have relevant competence in the areas of 5G networks, router configurations and gateway setups. Specific knowledge/experience related to satellite networks and related equipment is an advantage.

CIL invites applications for a Research Associate position from candidates with a graduate degree in international law and/or international relations with a demonstrable interest in ASEAN law and policy, trade, economic integration, and external relations. As a Research Associate, the candidate will be expected to publish academic writing such as articles, legal blog posts/Op-Eds and/or policy papers on international law issues. In tandem, the candidate will be exposed to legal editorial work, including the managing the production and publication process as an Assistant Production Editor of the Asian Journal of International Law, and as a Managing Editor of CIL’s international law blog, CIL Dialogues.

The candidate will also assist the team in organising international and regional capacity-building academic conferences and workshops, including CIL’s Flagship ASEAN Law Academy. Other tasks include managing and updating the CIL Document Database, providing substantive research support to the team’s co-directors, and carrying out administrative duties.

Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:

Research Fellow

We are looking for research fellows with a quantitative background for ongoing research in Public Health.

They will be working within the team under the Principal Investigator Assistant Professor Borame Dickens alongside multiple collaborators and experts.

Methods include agent based/individual based modelling, SEIR modelling, geospatial statistics, Bayesian statistics, burden mapping, measuring the impact of the environment on disease among others. The PI has projects in both infectious and chronic disease, measuring the impact of interventions.

Candidates need to be able to understand statistical modelling, have a mathematical background, and be fluent in R programming. We will also consider candidates who have extensive C++ or Python coding knowledge as these are transferrable to R.

The candidate will be working with the Principal Investigator(s) on the analysis of national health datasets, utilising an array of methods to infer statistical relationships and health outcomes. Further mathematical modelling will also be carried out when necessary involving diagnostic flows and where appropriate, disease spread and/or illness progression.

The Principal Investigator(s) is seeking for an independent worker who is well-organized, analytical and codes competently. They will however be receiving support from a team of mathematicians, epidemiologists and statisticians, and have a diverse portfolio of tasks. Under the team’s guidance, they will be expected to lead their own publications.
