Specifically, we aim to uncover the influence of genetics, ancestry, age and sex on human phenotypes in health and disease.

We are looking for team members who will develop cutting-edge AI/machine learning methods and pipelines to integrate and interrogate gene expression and regulatory profiles of >10 million cells from thousands of donors. Your work will help establish a healthy immune baseline for disease comparisons, and craft and curate atlases of human cells that will transform our understanding of human biology. We are looking for a full-time research assistant to support an MOE-funded research project on cancer and public health. The successful candidate will work closely with the principal investigator and a team of cancer clinicians and researchers, and will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in socio-behavioural research to improve cancer care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the administration and management of research projects, including coordinating the research team’s meetings and activities and preparing the research ethics application.
• Conduct research fieldwork, including recruiting participants, coordinating interview schedules, administering informed consent forms, conducting qualitative interviews and transcribing interviews verbatim.
• Conduct qualitative data analysis, and work with the research team in preparing research reports/manuscripts.

Requirements:

• Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English.
• Experience of successfully managing multiple tasks concurrently.
• Some qualitative research skills and experience, including at least some experience with conducting semi-structured interviews and/or analysing qualitative data and interest in learning how to conduct socio-behavioural research in cancer care.

A full-time Research Assistant position in the team led by Assistant Professor Chua Wei Ling is available at the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies, National University of Singapore.
