Optics Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Optics Engineer to be part of our R&D team. In this role, you will focus on the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for optical components and systems. The ideal candidate will bring at least 2 years of experience in optics engineering, with a strong background in manufacturing processes and quality assurance, ensuring the production of high-precision optical products.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Improvement:
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for optical components such as lenses, mirrors, prisms, and coatings.
- Enhance fabrication techniques, including grinding, polishing, coating, and assembly, to boost efficiency and precision.
Production Support:
- Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Ensure production processes meet all required quality standards and performance specifications.
Equipment and Technology Management:
- Identify, acquire, and maintain essential manufacturing equipment for optical production.
- Implement advanced technologies, including automated systems and CNC machinery, to improve production capabilities.
Collaboration with Design Teams:
- Partner with optical design teams to ensure new products are manufacturable.
- Provide design feedback to optimize production processes and outcomes.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, technical reports, and work instructions.
- Analyze production data and generate reports on key performance metrics.
Continuous Process Improvement:
- Drive initiatives to improve product yield, reduce costs, and enhance cycle times.
- Stay current on the latest advancements in optical manufacturing and integrate new techniques to improve the production process.
Technical Documentation and Standards:
- Take responsibility for creating, reviewing, and maintaining technical drawings, as well as managing part number creation and maintenance.
- This role aligns closely with product engineering tasks but focuses on quality assurance to uphold the company's production standards.
