CS
As Engineering Director, you lead our engineering teams. This role is both strategic and technical. You are responsible for hiring new team members, managing managers, defining and promoting the team’s ways of working as well as developing training strategies. At the strategic level, you align engineering activities with company goals and objectives, provide expert guidance and support, approve newly-developed policies from various departments, and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. To be successful in this position, you should have exceptional leadership, communication, and management skills and years of management experience.
Chapters
- Optimize team composition and defines the strategy to move towards the optimal organizational setup of the chapters
- Ensure Backbase grades and salaries are kept within boundaries and calibrated during each performance cycle amongst the entire chapters
- Promote a diverse and inclusive culture in the chapters
- Ensure that all engineering managers in the chapters have the necessary skills to perform their role
- Reviews and pro-actively seeks out new tools and techniques that could improve our ability to effectively lead the people in the chapters
- Ensure well-defined definitions (responsibilities and positioning in the chapters) for all roles and continuously evaluates and improves them
- Ensure clear growth paths for all roles in the chapters
- Responsabile to keep attrition below the threshold
- Responsabile to keep billability above the threshold
Delivery
- Improve collaboration between operations, core teams and engineering managers on operational topics, recruitment, HR and Academy
- Support external partnerships related to sourcing of people and engineering support/tooling, engagement activities
- Improve collaboration between nearshore partners and Backbase on topics like recruitment and growth
Academy
- Improve collaboration between academy trainers, engineering managers and technical leaders to ensure to deliver the best training experience for our people, partner and customers
Qualifications:
- 10+ years as an Engineering Manager or IT operations
- Master's degree within the engineering field
- Excellent English speaking, writing and presentation skills
