We are seeking an individual with civil/structural/architectural technical experience for the position of Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd.  The candidate will work directly with the Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the design and construction phase of the largest multistory data centre in Asia (The Project).

The candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required, such as submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc, are complete, ready and approved for the CSA subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents.  This role is focused on managing the CSA subcontractors' field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

Reporting to the Construction Managers, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating site-related works with the Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest compliance with the contract documents.  This role is focused on working in the field and will report directly to the Construction Manager. This candidate should understand all aspects of construction in relation to executing work on-site 

It is expected that the candidate will be detail-oriented with previous experience working as a Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Site Supervisor on data center projects and/or other complex technical projects.  There will be a significant amount of “hands-on” work coordinating with contractors in the field while installing all aspects of the project superstructure.  The candidate must have robust Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. Singapore (Fortis).  The CxEng is responsible for implementation, monitoring, deployment and conformance to Fortis’ commissioning program guidelines and supporting processes/procedures throughout the organization.  The candidate will work directly with Fortis senior management, our trade partners, equipment vendors, owner, and third-party CX consultants.

The Cx Eng will report to the Commissioning Manager on a specific site and be accountable for implementing and successfully executing Fortis’ corporate commissioning program.

The CxEng is expected to be a very detailed individual with extensive experience commissioning large projects such as industrial plants, data centres, and pharmaceutical plants. The successful CxEng must have excellent Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with construction workers, Fortis’ client, the Fortis management team, and subcontractors of all tiers. 

Responsibilities Specific to the Role:

• Integrate and work as part of a true “One Team” approach on the project, working closely with Fortis co-workers, subcontractors, the owner, and third-party QC and Cx teams.
• Review all project documents including design drawings, equipment submittal, specifications, and Quality Control plan, and understand project requirements pertaining to start-up and commissioning.
• The owner has selected BIM 360 Field software to track all QA/QC documentation and deficiency logs for the project. The Cx Eng will attend Fortis training on the software and is expected to become proficient with it and its capabilities.
• Review Project “Equipment Tracking Log” which serves as the Inspection and Test Plan for all major MEP equipment.  Oversee and ensure the required inspections and tests are carried out in accordance with the approved plan.
• Assist in developing the detailed L3 (Start-Up) micro schedule, which includes all inspections, energization, start-up, and testing required to reach “L4 Readiness.”
• Review and verify that subcontractor QA/QC documentation is completed in accordance with project requirements and the QA/QC plan. Ensure all previous documentation is complete on predecessor tasks prior to proceeding to the next phases (i.e., verify all L2 documentation is complete prior to starting L3).

• Must possess BCSS certificate
• Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing construction background. Precast construction is also a plus
• 5+ years of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing site supervisor
• Experience building data centers or other technically intensive facilities
• Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing and engineering working knowledge of plans, engineering drawings, specifications and schematics associated with the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades
• Computer literacy. Significant experience with Excel, Word, and other computer based tools
• Knowledge of Navisworks or any BIM software would be an added advantage

We are seeking an individual with Building Management Systems technical experience for the position of BMS Project Engineer at Fortis Construction Pte. Ltd. Singapore operations. The candidate will work directly with the BMS Project Manager and the subcontractors throughout the six-year design and construction phase of the largest multistory data center in Asia (The Project).

Reporting to the Senior Commissioning Manager, the candidate will be accountable for ensuring the work required; such as, submittals, RFI’s, coordination drawings, updating documents, etc., are complete, ready, and approved for the Building Management Systems (BMS) Subcontractors to perform their scope of work in the strictest of compliance to the contract documents. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our project team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing electrical systems within our data centre construction team. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that all electrical engineering aspects of our projects are executed to the highest standards, within budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and review electrical systems for data centers, including power distribution systesm, emergency backup systems, and energy efficiency measures, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and requirements.
• Collaborate with the designers, other project engineers, construction managers, and local authorities to integrate electrical systems effectively within the project design.

This role is focused on working with the Electrical Construction Manager who is managing the Electrical Subcontractor field operations and installation details for a large complex data center project, having stringent technical requirements.

It is expected the candidate will be a very detailed individual with previous experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer on data center projects and or other complex technical projects. There will be a significant amount of “hands on” work coordinating approved design documents and insuring installed work in the field are in compliance with such documents. The candidate must have strong Emotional Quotient (EQ) skills and be able to relate to and communicate with the client, the Fortis Construction Pte. • Facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and CSA subcontractors during construction.
• Work closely with the Electrical Construction Manager to lead the electrical subcontractor installation drawing approval process between the electrical subcontractor, Resident Engineer, Resident Technical Officer, Accredited Checker, and the Local Authority having Jurisdiction, and Assist in the receipt and review of all electrical submittals.
• Log and post all electrical changes and as-built information on field drawings. Provide such information to VDC team so such information can be incorporated into the final virtual model.
• Ensure all information is current and communicated with Electrical/project team.

• Electrical and engineering working knowledge of plans, engineering drawings, specifications and schematics associated with the mechanical and electrical trades.
• Computer literate. Significant experience with Excel, Word, and other computer based tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English.
