RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Independently prepares detailed and optimized mechanical designs of high power electronics packaging and vacuum chambers.
• Own the design and documentation of sheet metal, injection-molded, and machined parts.
• Participates in a multi-disciplined design team and is active in supporting new platform development activities. Design team interaction with Asia locations and within the US.
• Makes mathematical calculations to determine dimensional and positional variation (tolerance stackups) for mechanical components.
• Engineering simulation experience, including thermal, structure, and fluid-flow.
• Experiment design and data acquisition, such as temperature measurements, stress/strain measurements.
• Takes into account solid material properties, behaviors, and failure modes of: polymers, metals, and ceramics.
• Design and carry-out experiments to assess component durability or performance.
• Interacts with manufacturers to produce manufacturable and cost efficient parts.
• Considers method of fabrication during the design process – including maching, grinding and forming – in order to produce a manufacturable, optimized design.
• Provide guidance to Mechanical Designers and Drafters.
• Participates in the manufacturing and re-work of prototype parts, including 3D printing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science
• Minimum of 5 years of related design experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Solid Works or other 3D modeling software.
• Must have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
• Experience in thermal analysis, hand calculations, and engineering simulation software. Ansys preferred.
• Experience with plasma processing and maufacturing, knowledge of materials, purity, cleanliness required for semiconductor wafer processing.
• Demonstrated experience with vacuum equipment as applied to plasma processing.
• Knowledge of materials science to design parts to withstand harsh plasma environments.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing process in metal machining, sheet metal, injection molding.
• Expertise in thermal instrumentation and experimental design validation.
• Prefer ability of scripting in Python or Matlab to support data acquisition and design simulation.
• Prefer experience in developing anodization for corrosive atmospheres.

Overview

As the Lead Engineer at Synapxe, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT Systems. As an experienced Systems Engineer, you will continue to optimise systems performance to ensure its availability. The role will allow you to contribute to the overall success of Synapxe and public healthcare.

Role and Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

• Lead the design and deployment of infrastructure solutions such as Server OS, Active Directory, VMware and related services.
• Ensure the architecture aligns with business objectives and best practices.

Systems Enhancement and Maintenance:

• Administer and maintain servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and networking equipment.
• Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement monitoring tools and systems to proactively detect and resolve performance issues.
• Continuously optimize system performance and capacity.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems and data.
• Conduct regular testing of recovery procedures.

Troubleshooting and Resolution:

• Oversee the assessment of risks to systems.
• Identify complex system issues to provide advisory to the stakeholders.
• Provide escalation support for issues presented by the user.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer systems, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 9 years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
• Extensive knowledge of server administration, operating systems (Windows and Linux/Unix), virtualization technologies, and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Involve in one or more teams working in normal hour in managing and coordinating multiple vendors in a large scale communications projects based on Key Performance Indicator (KPI):

• Conduct periodic inspections and audit in both software to hardware e.g. Backend IT security equipment, network switches, firewalls, servers etc to front-end devices, that ranges from Monitoring Management Systems, etc.
• Conduct reviews in Security Backend System including cybersecurity requirements.
• Ensure contractor's contractual obligations are met and services are delivered well.
• Provide accurate and regular reports to the management on performance of the service delivery.
• Review design documents ensuring all design aspects of the systems are addressed.
• Project Management inclusive of reporting of Works progress and/or Issues escalation for resolution, project scheduling/project meeting, migration or Expansion work; as well as New sub-systems deployment.
• RF cell planning and validation including carrying out ad-hoc radio coverage survey and reports of the Radio sub-system performance.
• Support review of test plans, conduct, witness of system testing and acceptance testing.
• Support the implementation and configurations of security and network design.
• Liaise and coordinate with relevant stakeholders, maintenance/project team member and vendors to address critical incidents, coordinate with resolution parties, and establish effective communication between stakeholders for post-incident reviews.
• Analyse third-party as well as internal processes, and create strategies for service delivery optimization.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of project management, as well as knowledge of fixed/mobile communications platform technology. Certification in CITPM, PMP or equivalent certification as a requirement.
• Experiences in managing and coordinating multiple vendors ensuring KPI(s) are met.
• Knowledge in transmission and IP transport technologies, including DWDM, carrier ethernet, TCP/IP and Software Defined WAN. Certification in CCNA, CCNP or equivalent certification as a requirement.
