Our client is a global advanced precision engineering & manufacturing solutions provider. Due to fast expansion, they are actively seeking for Mechanical Design Director.

Responsibilities

• Identify and build technical expertise within Design and Manufacturing
• Provide leadership direction to inspire team members, excellent technical and leadership coaching
• Ensure design solutions are diligently planned and delivered to the cost target, on time with the highest level of reliability and quality
• Manage engineering programs with milestones
• Machine and equipment identification and selection
• Collaborating with Operation and Quality organization to drive for best practices
• Maintain and leverage from past project knowledge, push design through incisive questioning, challenge technical decision and Risk vs Opportunity
• Achieve high precisions during manufacturing
• Cycle time reduction through technology: (1) Through conformal cooling I additive manufacturing, (2) Utilization of superior tool steels for high efficiency (high heat transfer materials for the mould inserts)
• Knowledge on leading techniques such as cube moulds, collapsible cores, cavity pressure sensor implementations, flip tops.
• Mange various injection moulds processes:

1. Mirco moulding
2. Micro-insert moulding
3. 2K moulding
4. Reaction Injection moulding
5. Liquid Silicone Moulding
6. Injection Blow moulding
7. Plastic extrusion
8. Metal Injection Moulding
9. Die casting moulds
10. Track records of mould iterations
11. Lead in metrology and quality control of mould fabrication processes
12. Lead in Tooling operational excellence

Requirements

• Master/Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical design/ engineering discipline or equivalent qualification
• Min 15 year of experience in developing Mechanical Design solutions for precision engineering-intensive tooling in a matrix environment
• Experience of managing a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to perform product design development, mould design and manufacturing of complex engineering components in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Proved track record of delivering mechanical focused projects on time and to budget and specification
