Duties and Responsibilities

• Communicate, promote and manage the company’s vision with respect to HSE standards, behaviour and performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree preferable in Engineering.
• 5 years of supervisor and above.
• Preferably with 5 years of relevant working experience in oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of process safety and good business sense.
• HAZOP and PSSR facilitator.

This role requires good organizational/coordination skills and management of a team of electrical discipline engineers. Direct contact with the client and vendors will be necessary. The principle role of the Lead Electrical Discipline Engineer is to:

• Assist to plan, define, award and manage various Engineering Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design, as well as their timely issuance to support construction and integration activities.
• Assist to plan, define and award and manage Package Vendor’s technical deliverables and equipment delivery.
• Assist to plan and define refurbishment & life extension scope of work related to electrical discipline. This activity may involve site inspection of the candidate vessel and existing documentation gathering and cataloguing.
• Prepare project-specific discipline-related technical specifications and drawings with regards to all Client, Company and Classification Society requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Client basis of design and corporate specifications.
• Prepare, interface with client and maintain a deviation request list with regards to all Client specifications.
• Ensure that all contractors and vendors, and the overall project design meet the contractual, Classification Society and technical requirements related to electrical engineering discipline.
• Responsible for ensuring development and consolidation of electrical-discipline engineering registers/lists, using input from the other disciplines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform as Technical Authority for Electrical Discipline Engineering.
• Ensure that project budgets are kept, and life cycle costs to Yinson are minimized and that project schedule is maintained.
• Manage the Engineering Contractors and Equipment Vendors. Follow-up and monitor Contractor schedule and progress and ensure any deviation is mitigated by corrective action coordinated with YP team.
• Interact with Client as required.
• Identify and ensure execution of the electrical discipline engineering scope of work in accordance with the legal obligations, contract terms, scope of work, technical requirements and company policy.
• Interact with and support the engineering contractors as required (including Marine Engineering, EIT System Engineering, Topsides Module Engineering, Integration Engineering, LQ Engineering, Shipyard Engineering, etc) and equipment/package vendors.
• Achieving resolution of multi-discipline equipment problems by coordinating with other discipline engineers and project engineering management team.
• Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging methodology improvements; and absorbing new practices from clients and partners.
• Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting, even when not directly in own discipline (taking a holistic approach to the project).
• Coordinate discipline issues between client, contractors, vendors and other relevant parties.
• Provide input to weekly/monthly progress reporting and other relevant status information as needed.
• Participate in audits and review processes as necessary.
• Interact with non-technical disciplines as required (document control, cost control, planning).
• Other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager.

QHSSE Duties – every employee shall:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Mechanical/Thermal/Process Engineer will support diverse power and energy consulting projects throughout the Asia region. Further responsibilities would also include assisting in business development and proposal preparation, collaborating with WSP's regional and international experts as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mechanical Engineer within the Power and Energy Team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Clients during project feasibility studies, appraisals, procurement evaluations, contractor/vendor design reviews, engineering processes, construction, commissioning, and performance testing, and when required, presenting to clients.
• Contributing to preparing design specifications and provide technical advice to clients on various aspects of power plant development, including configuration options, performance evaluation, prime equipment selection, Balance of Plant (BoP) systems and components, reliability and availability analysis, enabling infrastructure, and considerations for project implementation.
• Assisting managing the technical delivery requirements of projects and project execution to ensure they meet established standards and client expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Chemical engineering.
• 3 to 10 years of experience as a mechanical/process engineer in the power and energy sector, ideally developed within a plant/system design role or professional services/consulting environment.
• Familiar with gas turbines, CC & CHP power plants, or waste-to-energy plants, including key technologies & components and project lifecycle considerations.
• Experience of working with public and private sector clients in the Asia region.
• Experience in managing and developing client relationships, driving sales, and achieving business growth in engineering consulting or a similar technical industry.
• The following are desired:

1. An additional business qualification (e.g., MBA) would be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of, or the ambition to learn and develop, expertise in process systems for generation of biofuels and power plant waste cleaning systems such as flue gas and wastewater treatment.
3. Familiarity with any design software such as Thermoflow’ GTPro, Steam Pro, CFD, PVsys, WAsP, etc., would be advantageous.
