About the role

Duty Engineer

The Duty Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing all engineering operations within the hotel. This includes delegating tasks to subordinates, coordinating engineering activities, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. He/she will ensure compliance with maintenance standards, monitor supplies, and respond to emergency breakdowns. Additionally, the Duty Engineer handles minor projects, ensures systems are well-maintained, and promotes energy conservation measures. The incumbent also conducts inspections, leads daily meetings, and trains subordinates while enforcing hotel policies.

What you will do

• Oversee delegation of daily tasks to subordinates, aligning with maintenance programs such as Perfect Room Program (PRP) and Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP)
• Coordinate all engineering activities hotel-wide
• Develop and execute PMP for engineering equipment/systems including those under Maintenance Contracts, ensuring strict adherence to PMP standards. Monitor and maintain records of preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage inventory levels of engineering supplies and ensure timely replenishment
• Respond to emergency breakdowns promptly and see through to resolution. Manage minor engineering projects and provide updates to the Assistant Director of Engineering.
• Ensure all M&E, ACMV, fire and safety systems are well maintained and checked periodically.
• Implement and promote energy conservation measures, seeking opportunities for improvement.
• Lead daily meetings and guide subordinates by training and developing their career growth.
• Ensures that all subordinates conform to the hotel’s employee handbook and policies such as grooming and behaviour.
• Conduct daily inspections of engineering plant rooms and random inspections of work performed by subordinates.

What you bring

• Preferably a Diploma holder in Building/Facilities Engineering or its equivalent
• Minimum four (4) years as Building/Facilities Technician with hands-on skills, and/or minimum two (2) years as a Senior Technician/M&E Supervisor/Maintenance Officer or equivalent, with strong Technical knowledge
• Minimum one (1) year of administrative experience, preferably in a hospitality or engineering-related field, will be an added advantage
• Equipped with basic Computer Skills (i.e. MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Positive learning attitude, an eye for details, being actively prepared for urgent/emergency work, and a growth mindset

Schedule & Hours:

This position requires the incumbent to work from Mondays to Fridays and one weekend per week, 8.30 am to 6.00 pm. He/she may cover shift duties due to work exigencies.

As a DevOps Specialist, you will be required to:

• ​Work directly with clients Development team, product owner and various key stakeholders.
• Develop scripts and templates to automate infrastructure provisioning. ​
• Take ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organisation. ​
• Provide system troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains, expect to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues. ​
• Security and access control design IAM roles and utilize cloud native controls to meet security objectives and every infrastructure level and cloud services used. ​
• Capacity management and planning devise mechanisms to monitor and capture system. metrics and identifying potential bottlenecks at the infrastructure level. ​
• Assist in the migration activities for clients platform.

Qualifications:

• ​Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines. ​
• Passion for automation, standardization and best practices. ​
• Solid hands-on experience in designing, building, deploying and securing of highly available web application in cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. ​
• Experience with Terraform, Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo. ​Experience in software-defined infrastructure (OpenStack, CloudStack, VSphere). ​
• Experience with infrastructure provision tools (Docker, Ansible, Puppet, Chef etc.). ​
• Network skills in firewall rules, load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS. ​
• Basic understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
• Knowledge in DecSecOps will be an added advantage. ​
• Self-motivated and good communication skills. ​
• Experience in Agile development environment focusing on rapid quality delivery. ​
• High attention to detail, accuracy, meticulous to figures and processes in high agility environment.

Preference:

• ​Experienced with management cloud infrastructure and services / certification with GPC, GCC (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or equivalent cloud platforms will be preferred. ​
• Experience in one or more virtualization technologies (KVM, Xen, VMware, Hyper-V). ​
• Good understanding of the Linux operating system. ​
• Good understanding of Infra-as-code and Policy-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the Instrument & Control ITP inspection and test in compliance with rules and Tai Power requirement.
• Ensuring that the deliverables from engineering, fabrication, and principal contractors are of the right quality, according to company and industry requirements
• Supporting engineering design review and provide feedback from basic design, details design up to shop drawings such as SCADA, CCTV, Helideck weather monitoring, ESD, telecommunication, F&G
• Interpreting, implementing, and documenting the overall control philosophy across the wind farm components
• Preparing Instrument & Control equipment technical spec and RFQ for supporting procurement team during quotation sourcing
• Participate in preparation and review of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) of the wind farm offshore substations (OSS) and commissioning procedure.
• Involving in EC/MC completion test package preparation to ensure construction completion handed over as per sequence and schedule
• Perform a daily supervision of the installation and commissioning
• Attending daily call out inspection and work closely with shipyard construction team, QA and commissioning team
• Involving in wind farm OSS final acceptance test / Proof Concept test procedure preparation.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for wind farm OSS equipment
• Involving in O&M procedure preparation and conducting OSS maintenance execution during operation.
• In association with the Maintenance Systems group, review and update the technical content of the preventive maintenance procedures and to recommend changes where improvements in safety, quality or economy may be effected
• Contributing to the continuous development of new technologies to improve the performance and usability of our wind farm control systems

Statement Of Purpose (Overall Purpose of Job)

In charge of the execution of all Solar Installation works inclusive of planning, scheduling, controlling, coordination and ensure works carried out are in accordance to approved shop drawings / specification and complete within the completion date. In addition, budget control and contract administration.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
(A) Specific :

• Evaluate costing received for electrical works.
• Vet through shop drawings to ensure all are in compliance to technical specifications / authority requirements prior to submission.
• Liaise and have meetings with Clients and Consultants on technical resolution / clarification, inspection and submission.
• To be the lead contact point for all Project issues.
• To attend weekly site meeting.
• To build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationship and meet Client’s expectations.
• To manage, coordinate, work and oversee all workers, sub-contractors and vendors to ensure proper work execution and good workmanship.
• To plan, implement, track the work progress and submit weekly progress report so as to ensure that the project executed is on time and within budget.
• To monitor project cost including variation works and submission of supporting documents.

(B) General :

• To prepare and submit progress reports.
• To maintain proper documentation for all projects.
• To coordinate and work with other departments.
• To engage, coordinate and oversee all project works to ensure successful completion and handing over to Clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

(C) Safety:

• To follow the safety procedures, rules and regulations and eliminate or reduce hazard at the work place.

Job Requirements

(A) Education, Qualifications & Special Training :

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.

(B) Knowledge & Skills :

• Well-versed with installation of M&E services and builder’s works.
• Experience in Design and Delivery Execution of Solar System Works and Load Sizing Of Solar Systems.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Independent & Team player.
• Proactive and able to take initiative.
• Good in negotiation.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• PC literate and knowledge in MS Office.

(C) Experience :

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experiences.
