Roles and Responsibilities
As a Piping Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and coordination of piping systems and structures for complex engineering projects. Your responsibilities include:
- Preparing essential project documents such as line indexes, tie-in lists, piping layouts, loading calculations, MTO sketches, BM/BQ, and detailed 2D/3D CAD models.
- Conducting stress and vibration analysis, interpreting data for moments, stresses, reaction forces, and displacements, and ensuring solutions meet project schedules and budgets.
- Developing piping system designs that adhere to project standards, specifications, and industry best practices, utilizing your expertise in advanced CAD tools.
- Collaborating with senior engineers to study project requirements, perform field surveys, and verify tie-in locations.
- Supporting the preparation of steam trace piping and pipe support drawings in 2D CAD format and contributing to model reviews, interference detection, and technical evaluations.
- Assisting in the resolution of design challenges to meet code requirements and vendor specifications.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in advanced CAD tools, including AutoCAD, CadPipe, Microstation, PDS Intergraph, and SP3D.
- Strong mathematical aptitude for piping calculations, including trigonometric functions, logarithms, and other engineering formulas.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and prepare effective business communications.
- A proactive attitude and adaptability to technology upgrades and changing project needs.
