(A) Primary Function
1. Responsible for all engineering related activities of the product line concerned.
2. Responsible for quality of products at all stages and drive production yield.
3. Identify and initiate actions to prevent occurrence and recurrence of product, process, quality systems nonconformities.
4. Work as a team with all departments to achieve mutual agreement on specification required by customers.
5. Ensure all products meet the standard cycle time and minimise machine and mold down time.
6. Implement improvement plans to enhance efficiency of process, material and manpower.
7. Responsible for new RFQ enquiry and advise the management the feasibilities for mass production.
8. Responsible for resolving discrepancies and technical issues related to product with customers.
(B) Duties and Responsibilities
1. Establish optimum process parameters and meeting specific cycle time for new product.
2. Analyze defect reported in-house and customer with quality, tooling and production.
3. Responsible to test and qualify all new molds by applying systematic molding that includes Load Senstivity Test, Viscosity/Shear Rate Test, Gate Freeze Test, Thermal Mapping of Mold, Short Short Test etc.
4. Must perform DOE on molding process parameter for process window study.
5. Attend to all daily quality and process related issues.
6.Prepare and execute process validation protocols and reports for new and existing products with tooling and quality personnel for all customers.
7. Participate in the Continuous Process Improvement programme to improve productivity, reduce scrap.
8. Perform internal quality system audit.
9. Train and assess production staff on processes as well as WI as and when required.
10. Attend routine production and quality meetings.
11. Execute engineering change notice from customer/ in house and update ERP system promptly.
12. Compliance to all regulatory and in house system requirements especially for medical and automotive customers.
C) Qualifications / Requirements
1. Degree/Diploma in Engineering-related discipline, preferably in Polymer and Plastic technology, Mechanical.
2. At least 3 years related experience/knowledge in Plastic Injection Molding, preferably in medical and automotive industries.
3. Knowledge in ISO9001, ISO13485, TS16949, familiar with FMEA, PPAP, APQP and IOPQ.
4. Possess strong leadership, positive attitude, analytical and good interpersonal skills.
5. Results-oriented, meticulous and a self-motivated team player.
