Job Summary

The Engineering Director will lead and oversee the engineering department within our CNC machining operations. This role is responsible for driving innovation, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CNC machining, a strong background in engineering management, and a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams. This role will be based in Thailand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineering teams.
• Optimize CNC machining processes, post CNC processes.
• Maintenance of CNC machines, equipment, fixtures and cutting tools
• Oversee engineering projects.
• Provide technical guidance.
• Ensure quality compliance.
• Manage budget and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (Those without degree but without relevant experience will be considered).
• 10+ years in CNC machining and engineering management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge in CAD/CAM and CNC programming.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Knowledge in GDT and metrology.
• Experience in Hard Disk Drive Industries has an advantage.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate in Thai or Chinese is a bonus.

Annual Remuneration

THB2,000,000 to THB2,500,000 (excluding variable bonus)

We are currently working with a US Semiconductor firm who is looking for an experienced Engineering Leader to lead the Engineering Team in Malacca. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for promoting technical excellence and fostering seamless collaboration between the Research and Development (R&D) and Operations teams. The role is based in Malacca, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 160 engineers with expertise in mechanical, electrical, software engineering.
• Collaborate with innovation centers and operations to facilitate the transition of new products to high-volume manufacturing.
• Strategically allocate Engineering team resources to meet customer requirements.
• Drive technical improvements with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Address on-field technical issues and oversee application engineering teams for efficient sales order fulfillment.
• Identify and resolve recurring engineering issues.
• Provide training and coaching to optimize the performance of the Engineering team.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure departmental excellence.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for design rules and processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proven track record in managing, mentoring, and developing large engineering teams.
• Solid knowledge of standard electro-mechanical parts, various machining processes, and fabrication.
• Proficiency in CAD applications.
