The Opportunity
This headcount will play the part of a Data Engineer to build and design our Enterprise Data Platform for optimal data retrieval to facilitate the development of dashboards and other visualizations for our Senior Management and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- To design, build and test deployment & operation phases of Lodging’s Enterprise Data Platform for current and future projects.
- Review, construct or re-structure, test and maintain data architecture
- Review and establish best practices for data management, reporting and security
- Improve data foundational procedures, guidelines and standards
- Evaluate datasets and identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
- Comprehend, design, acquire and manage organizational datasets that support analytics to achieve business goals
- Optimize data retrieval to facilitate development of dashboards and other visualizations for stakeholders
- Coordinate with internal infrastructure teams to complete planned tasks and problem-solving where necessary
- Support data management projects when needed and perform additional data related tasks
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines
- At least 3 years of data engineering or data application software engineering experience
- Experience in object-oriented design, coding and test patterns as well as experience in engineering software platforms and large-scale data infrastructure
- Hands-on working experience with big data systems (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark)
- Extensive knowledge in SQL, Scala and Python programming languages
- Experienced in Microsoft stack of analytics products (SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Warehouse, Integration Services, Data Quality, Master Data Services, Power BI, Fabric)
