Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing and enhancing our on-premise data centres in key trading regions, including London, New York, Singapore, and Tokyo. The successful candidate will focus on improving existing automation processes, building new infrastructure, and driving innovation within the platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise systems, introduce cutting-edge automation, and ensure our infrastructure is robust and scalable.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provision and manage infrastructure across on-premise data centers in key trading regions.
· Develop and improve automation processes to enhance operational efficiency.
· Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.
· Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
· Implement security patches and ensure the infrastructure adheres to security best practices.
· Document configurations, processes, and procedures for transparency and future reference.
· Collaborate with different teams across the business to understand their needs and provide technical support.
· Research and prototype new technologies to continuously improve the robustness and scalability of our infrastructure.
· Provide support during operational hours and be available for critical issues outside regular hours when necessary.
Technical Skills:
· Proficient in using scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
· Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
· Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, including logging, process management, scheduling, and resource monitoring.
· Understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Experience working with APIs, particularly REST.
· Familiar with monitoring tools (Opsview, Prometheus, Grafana or similar).
· Experience working with CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes.
· Strong ability to implement security best practices.
· Experience in capacity planning to ensure infrastructure scalability and optimal resource allocation.
