This role is primarily responsible for maintaining the plant automation Operational Technology (OT) systems including but not limited to engineering, troubleshooting, maintenance, projects, and vendor management. Responsibilities:

1. Manage and maintain plant automation, instrumentation, and controls OT infrastructure.
2. Troubleshoot and analyse automation related problems. Create permanent solution based on root cause analysis to eliminate plant downtime to a minimum.
3. Lead the site calibration programs as per global standard. Liaise with vendors and production team to maintain calibration schedules of all instruments to eliminate issues on safety, quality, production, and other risks due to calibration or instrumentation failure.
4. 5. Ensure latest backups and crash recovery procedures are updated and tested to recover any OT assets (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, Controllers etc) in case of a crash or machine failure.
6. Support any projects (OpEx/CaPex/global/etc.) as automation point of contact during design engineering, development, and commissioning to ensure smooth transaction after project handover.
7. Create and maintain all OT related documentation. Making sure good housekeeping is achieved.
8. Propose & implement minor modifications to systems, equipment, processes, and operations to improve safety, increase efficiency and achieve company goals.
9. Ensure that changes carried out on the automation systems that went through the change control process shall not compromise the safety, environmental or quality aspect.
10. Ensure automation systems comply with regulatory guidelines. Maintain the validated status of production equipment and associated control systems in accordance with company standard, departmental procedures, and SOPs.
11. Ensure automation related critical spares and parts are available for all PLC systems, VFDs and instruments.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Possess a Degree in Chemistry or a Diploma in Chemical Process Technology 
• Experience: Diploma holder with previous experience in chemical industry is advantageous.
• Skills: A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, drive, and strong communication abilities (both written and verbal). Capable of working under pressure and maintaining accuracy under tight schedules.

Job Description

• Assist project manager in managing and monitoring the project progress to meet technical requirements and time schedule with high quality standard and cost effectiveness;
• Attend to daily tasks relating to project and customer's requirements and work closely with the Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production & Quality Departments;
• Manage sub-contractors and vendors on cost, quality and schedule issues;
• Prepare the project schedule and progress report and alert higher management on the project risk when occurred;
• Maintain the proper documentations follows Project Execution Plan throughout the project cycle.

Job Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent
• Computer proficiency in MS Project / Excel and MS Word, Adobe Acrobat & AutoCad an added advantage.
• Experience in supervisory and management or projects, people, work processes oriented are preferred.
