Job Summary:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for special processes such as thermal spraying coating. In this role, the Process Engineer would implement and qualify the new equipment and new gas turbine component repair technologies and drive the continuous improvement of the process.

Essential Responsibilities :

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Manage and take ownership of assigned special processes to enhance robustness, efficiency and productivity
• Responsible for new capital equipment and facilitates recommendation, revaluation, selection, installation and commissioning
• Manage and qualify development or new repairs that will be approved by Engineering
• Develop a continuing quality and productivity improvement program on the assigned special processes for all applicable products

Qualifications/Requirements :

• A Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering from a local or internationally recognized university
• At least 3 years’ experience engineering processes in related industry preferred
• Knowledge of repair of Gas Turbine components and Plasma spraying coating will be advantageous
• Familiarity with thermal spraying and diffusion coatings
• Previous experience in repair of industrial gas, aero turbines or aeroderivatives would be advantageous (but not essential)
• Experience in Lean Six sigma would be advantageous (but not essential)

The Aviation Innovation Research (AIR) Lab

The joint CAAS-Thales innovation lab known as ‘AIR Lab’ started to operate on 1st November 2019 with the objective to develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) or Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) of advanced and open technologies for future Air Traffic Management (ATM). Currently, the joint lab employs a team of 40 Thales engineers and 12 CAAS engineers and air traffic controllers operating in a vibrant ecosystem involving a number of Singaporean SMEs and start-ups, as well as key research institutes.

Thales engineers include 10 domain experts – with more than 10 years of experience – coming from Thales ATM centres of competence in France and Australia. These experts are coaching both the local Thales and CAAS engineers. 

The POCs and MVPs are co-developed with the CAAS engineers who have access to the same development tools and environment used by the Thales Engineers (provided by the Singapore branch of Thales Digital Factory). The POCs and MVPs are defined in collaboration with CAAS air traffic controllers through iterative workshops.

AIR Lab research outcomes will feed the next generation of products, including clearly disruptive outcomes addressing Safety and Security for Open architecture, data driven ATM Twin, Green Aviation, Trajectory Based Operations. 

As the AIR Lab was recently extended for another 3 years, 4 work streams are now embarked: 

Regional Experimental Platform, FF-ICE/TBO, Green Aviation, Future-proof Interoperable Platform-Agnostic, Safe and Secure Platforms.

As a CQV Engineer, you will be responsible for the executing of Commissioning and Qualification tasks within a variety of small to large scale projects. You will ensure that the validated status of site facilities, utilities, equipment and processes is established and maintained in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and industry guidance/standards and provide expertise for the investigation and compliant resolution of non-conformances encountered during (re)qualification/(re)validation activities and site unplanned events.

Your assignments will vary from conceptual or basic design of new laboratories or manufacturing facilities to consultancy and advice on maintenance management and improvement of maintenance planning as well as technical audits. All work undertaken needs to be in accordance with the agreed budget, timescale, quality and performance criteria within the required procedures (health and safety, GMP, local and corporate standards). The CQV Engineer will develop CQV planning documents to manage CQV projects and generate and execute CQV protocols using Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). He will investigate and resolve protocol exceptions or discrepancies and develop technical reports and CQV summary reports. Interview Format

If you are shortlisted, you will undergo the online written test stage, which includes code and algorithm questions. You will be notified of the specific time and arrangement of the written test through email and SMS. After passing the written test, you can enter the second interview stage. The entire interview process consists of about 2-3 rounds. If the interview is approved, the offer can be quickly issued for integration into the job.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of the company's AI environment simulator.
• Explore simulation environment models and develop methods for rapid deep learning model implementation (supervised learning, POD, PINN, parameter estimation).
• Explore the application of machine learning methods in geometric optimization of physical fields.

Requirements:

• Solid foundation in machine learning, with relevant experience in physical simulation, discrete simulation, and parameter estimation.
• Experience with PINN, data-driven model dimensionality reduction (e.g., POD), supervised learning, and inverse reinforcement learning.
• Proficiency in Python, strong coding skills, strong research and learning abilities, good mathematical foundation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong coding skills preferred, with various competition awards (e.g., Kaggle, Tianchi, DF, DC) or participation in ACM programming competitions, or significant impact from open-source projects on GitHub.
• Publication of papers at top conferences or journals such as Interspeech, ICASSP, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL.
• Research and application experience in simulation simulators, physics neural networks, and data-driven model dimensionality reduction learning.
• Experience using commercial/open-source physics simulation software.
