The Sr Engineer, Product Design (IO) is part of the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division (DSS) and reports to the Sr Manager, Product Development Engineering. What You Will Do

• Develop new mechanical products of connectors. Support interface of Molex products to customer and partner company systems.
• Lead new product development efforts executing Product Development Phase Gate Process from development of the product concept through volume production while adhering to project schedule Design includes all aspects of product development such as: 3D Modeling, 2D Drawings, engineering changes, technical documents, etc.
• Work with manufacturing engineering to develop manufacturing processes utilizing the latest 3D CAD modeling techniques and other Design for Manufacturability (DFM) tools.
• Use risk reduction tools to perform TA, FEA, model simulation etc. for design analysis is expected. Utilize a working knowledge of material costs and manufacturing processes to determine the impact on various design attributes. Provides input to the DFMEA analysis of the product as required.
• Performs design validation activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer, UL requirements, and reliability testing.
• Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and inside product marketing personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to the following scope of tasks and duties:

1. Carry out all preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as directed by the Supervisor and clear completed work from the CMMS data base.
2. Responsible for the proper maintenance on various rotating and static equipment and systems including the plant piping systems and structural support systems.
3. Response and resolve work orders for any mal-functioning for static and rotating equipment in the facility. Ensure minimum down time or timely repairs of production equipment.

7. Supervise and work closely with in-house contractor and equipment vendor to execute maintenance work at the terminal. Ensure safeguards are followed such as valid work permit are issued, wearing prescribed personal protection equipment etc.
8. Liaise with production team with all aspects of mechanical system testing, running, trouble-shooting, carry out material specification checks on all installed piping components such as gasket, bolts, etc.

Work Experience

What You Will Do

• Knowledge of connector/cable manufacturing processes; molding, stamping, plating and assembly and lead a focused team consisting of product and SI engineers, all tooling PE’s and plants ME function to support product development process ensuring robust product design and manufacturability in low and high volumes.
• Identify limitations in proposed product designs and suggest improvements to meet Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and inspection guidelines. Provide critical feedback on process dimensions and product features.
• Identify and lead any proof-of-concept work required in early design stage to verify use of new technology or concepts in product or process design to reduce risk and improve profitability.
• Develop manufacturing strategies for new products and drive the tooling development process to meet customer’s expectations of quality and optimal cost and lead-time. • Support production plant MEs in ramp up of new products as well as required capacity additions.
• Detailed understanding of automation - concepts, parts transfer devices, machine controls and inspection techniques. This requires technical and analytical skills and hasAbility to develop specifications on automated process and equipment.
  Ability to debug and qualify high-speed assembly equipment, as well as manual processes and tooling. This requires problem solving and organizational skills including root cause analysis.

What You Will Do

• Knowledge of connector/cable manufacturing processes; molding, stamping, plating and assembly and lead a focused team consisting of product and SI engineers, all tooling PE’s and plants ME function to support product development process ensuring robust product design and manufacturability in low and high volumes.
• Identify limitations in proposed product designs and suggest improvements to meet Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and inspection guidelines. Provide critical feedback on process dimensions and product features.

Work with NPI / plant MEs as needed to debug new products and processes to validate product performance and meet customer needs – delivery, quality and performance.
• Support production plant MEs in ramp up of new products as well as required capacity additions.
• Detailed understanding of automation - concepts, parts transfer devices, machine controls and inspection techniques. This requires technical and analytical skills and hasAbility to develop specifications on automated process and equipment.
  Ability to debug and qualify high-speed assembly equipment, as well as manual processes and tooling. This requires problem solving and organizational skills including root cause analysis.
  Knowledge of mechanism design coupled with strong math and mechanism analysis skills.

The Product Engineer (Cyber Security) is the technical expert supporting the sales and prospecting lifecycle from pre-sales, deployment to post-sale support. • Coordination with stakeholders Coordinate/Advise all the project teams (e.g. Engineering, Supply Chain, Completion & Commissioning, and subcontractors) to ensure information and data requirements are understood and complied
• Coordinate with Engineers or each discipline members to ensure the information/data quality within the schedule - MODEC started to focus on complying with Information and Data Management requirements, and understanding from different departments/stakeholders are crucial
• we need someone who can really involve departments and work closely to build not only protocols but also an organizational understanding and culture towards Information and Data Management Coordinate with Digital/IT team to ensure that the Project DB.
• Tools are properly setup as per project requirement Enterprise Data Platform/Data Management Program and Information and Data Management related tools are under development from scratch in MODEC, hence great collaborator to provide necessary input/feedback to Digital/IT team is required (need wholistic and long-term view to contribute to the enterprise level architecture, rather than solely standing on the project requirements view).
• Quality Assurance / Reporting Identify issues related to data quality, and coordinate with/support stakeholders populating the data to eliminate the issues Monitor data quality KPIs to reflect the Project Information and Data Management status

Responsibilities:

• Review specifications, clarifications, and drawings.
• Schedule works, requisition materials, control costs, and supervise projects.
• Coordinate with Structural, Architectural, and M&E teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure timely progress and compliance with safety and regulations.
• Conduct QA/QC and enforce safety on-site.
• Prepare progress and handover reports.
• Handle additional assigned tasks.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering with PEB recognition.
• Working experience in A1/A2 building companies is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in reading electrical and ELV schematic diagrams.
• Coordinate with Clients/Sub-Contractors on project and maintenance matters for smooth site execution.
• Review contract specifications and prepare variation orders as required.
• Perform engineering design, load, and fault calculations.
• Resolve technical issues related to installation, commissioning, and testing.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and standards.
• Attend site meetings to discuss and resolve issues with Clients/Sub-Contractors.
• Assist Project/Site/Construction Manager in monitoring project progress.

Requirements:

• Minimum ITE in Electrical Engineering or equivalents.
• Experienced in project management for industrial and commercial projects.
• MRT project experience is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of design phases or street lighting work is a plus.
