We are seeking a Research Engineer to join a university-level research centre collaborating with industry. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will be involved in a project that is related to 3D Environment Modelling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create immersive 3D environments and VR
• Translate 2D designs into 3D spaces
• Optimize environments for performance and aesthetics
• Design and texture object models independently

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant disciplines
• Proficient in Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, and Cinema 4D
• Strong portfolio with diverse environmental models with a robust understanding of complex scene spatial and proportional relationships
• Knowledge of procedural generation and optimization techniques
• Preferably to have experiences as the lighting specialist to achieve cohesive and compelling environments

RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Responsible to source, negotiate and purchase materials from new suppliers and vendors.

2. Evaluate vendor's quotation to ensure that they are in line with technical and commerical specifications required for the project.

3. Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.

4. Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately.

5. Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments and received stock.

6. Coordinating with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.

7. In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders, delivery and shipment schedules.

8. Assist in ISO Annual Performance Review for vendors.

9. Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time and best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according requirements and expectation.

10. Updating, certification and maintaining records of all equipment and tools on the validity period.

11. Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Management.

Responsibilities

- Perform repair, troubleshooting and commissioning of Caterpillar engines/

machines / equipment.

- Coordinate and communicate with customer.

- Develop strategies to improve quality of technical support, and to improve service.

- Review set up for technical support with principals

Requirements

- Diploma in Marine / Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics

- 2-3 years working experience in the construction/marine or mechanical handling

equipment industry or 5 years experience with Industrial Technician Certificate

- Ability to organise and lead with plenty of drive and initiative

- Shipyard working experience / sea going experience will be an advantage.
