Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in the development of web applications for cognitive science research
• Engage closely with cognitive science researchers to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the research objectives and translate them into well-designed and implemented features
• Collaborate with the research team to evaluate and validate the tasks through user testing and data analysis
• Participate actively in code reviews, offering valuable feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices
• Identify and resolve application issues efficiently, utilizing debugging techniques and providing timely resolutions
• Conduct thorough testing to guarantee the performance, reliability, and security of the developed applications

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in app programming, with a solid understanding of Node.js
• Proficiency in using web servers, specifically Nginx, to deploy and manage applications
• Strong knowledge of database management systems, particularly MongoDB, for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of API development and integration
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively

What you will do:

As Service Sales Engineer IR, you will be part of Industrial Refrigeration Service team to handle sales and technical inquiries from customers by providing front end technical, commercial, and administrative support which will be assisted by the operations team in Singapore.

• Service business performance growth through pro-actively selling (existing and new initiatives)
• Sales Revenue, GM and AR overdue
• Maintain existing customer base and develop new customer base to ensure continuous business growth.
• Customer relationships building and customer satisfaction
• Prepare and follow through of quotation
• Update of installed base, SFDC and Service Max opportunities
• Ensure JCI’s ethics, policies and procedures are followed

How You Will Do It:

• Proactive selling of Labour and Material (L&M), Retrofits, Parts, Preventive Service Agreements (PSA) and new initiatives through schedule and/or drop in visits
• Recommend solutions to customer requirements which will have company’s competitive advantage
• Understand pricing, quotation, technical proposal, clarification & negotiation with factory/vendors during quotation preparation, and budgeting
• Review received order against quotation, comments on T&C’s and book in/hand over of orders.
• Represent the company to customers with professional appearance, maintain consistent communication with customers as well as establish the long-term relationship with them
• Maintain field intelligence and feedback pertinent information on competitor’s activities, product, prices, business performance and develop the necessary business strategies to ensure the company excels.
• Execution of business operation and conduct are to conform to JC Singapore policies.
• Communicate and work closely with other departments in ensuring the overall company objectives/performance is achieved at all times.
• Perform any other duties from time to time, whether ad-hoc or otherwise, as assigned by your superior.

What We Look For:

• Engineering Degree onwards or equivalent (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Process)
• 3 years and above experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, F&B, HVAC/Refrigeration or similar industries

Job Scope:

• Commercial software engineering: Have strong professional software development experience in multiple programming languages, including modern virtual-machine languages such as Java, as well as common scripting and glue languages such as Python and version control (git), with good analytical & debugging skills.
• Experience performing root-cause analysis on bugs and performance problems in distributed systems, including network and source-level debugging
• Big data: You have extensive experience with data analytics and working knowledge of big data infrastructure such as Google Cloud, Big Query, Data Flow, Hadoop Eco System, HDFS, Apache Storm, Apache Spark
• You've routinely built data pipelines with gigabytes/terabytes of data and understand the challenges of manipulating such large datasets
• Cloud Exposure: Strong experience implementing systems and applications using distributed and cloud infrastructure. GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure are also okay
• Data Modeling: Flair for data, schema, data model, PL/SQL, Star & snowflake schema, how to bring efficiency in data modeling for efficient querying data for analysis, understands criticality TDD and develops data validation techniques
• Working knowledge of distributed relational and tabular data stores, message queues, stream processing facilities, and other scalable big-data platform technologies
