What will you do?

The Team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of government. The GCC (Government Commercial Cloud) platform provides a federated agency hosting and infrastructure through modern cloud architecture implementation and the modernising of Government applications through adoption of agile development practices.

The Team is seeking independent and motivated Solution Engineer who has experience in both small and big scale cloud-based projects, to support agencies and the GCC product team to create value in the GCC platform. This role will work closely with the agency users, GCC product and partnering teams, using a collaborative approach with strong technical understanding, to assist and ensure that the GCC platform continues to add value to agencies.

As a Solution Engineer, you will be required to:

• Work directly with GCC engineering team, product team and various key stakeholders.
• Support development of proof-of-concepts for GCC platform in concert with product team and various stakeholders.
• Take ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organisation.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform Level 2 Systems Administration in system monitoring, management, disaster recovery and capacity planning.
• Assist in performing on-prem and cloud system management in Microsoft, AIX, Virtual (VMWare or Hyper-V), Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
• Participate in the design, system set-up and configuration, implementation and deployment of new server and Azure Cloud Technologies.
• Plan and manage IT resources for tasks or projects including budgeting and capacity planning.
• Update technical documentation pertaining to systems administration for on-premise system, Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud infrastructure.
• Perform system maintenance, upgrade, patches and incident resolution outside of working hours when required.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• Experience in system support and server administration including implementing and managing Azure cloud infrastructure with strong understanding of Azure cloud technologies
• Hands-on experience on administrating Windows Server, Exchange, VMWare vSphere and Hyper-V on premise,
• Hands-on experience on administrating Microsoft 365 cloud technologies such as Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Intune.
• Hand-on experience with implementing and configuring Azure cloud technologies such as virtual machines, application services, load balancer, SQL Managed Instance, site to site VPN, storage solutions, network, security, logging and monitoring.

• Support start-up, contract maintenance and other service activities with emphasis on safety and protection.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, logging, corrective maintenance works and to carry out warranty repairs.
• Participate in service and repair of gas detectors, safety activities, emergency response, breakdown calls and ad hoc projects.
• Manage all orders efficiently until fulfilment stage, by working closely with Service team.
• Liaison with relevant parties such as customers, service supervisor, coordinators and logistic pertaining to queries, technical issues, status and deliveries.
• Ensure equipment turnaround and breakdown responses are achieved at optimal level of efficiency.
• To provide support to other service activities that may be assigned in the course of work
• Effective communication of technical information to employees, customers and external parties in an accurate and concise manner in both a written and verbal media.
• To participate/take up Workplace Safety & Health responsibilities/ activities as per requested by the company.

Requirement

• Min. Diploma / NITEC in engineering required
• Min. 3years' experience as a service engineer in Oil & Gas / Process industry.
• Knowledge in Electrical & instrumentation is preferred.
• Work experience in Process Instrumentation is a plus.
• Good team player.
• Customer service oriented.
