• Initiates, implements, and manages the processes improvement program based on best practices in the metal drum making industry, with an emphasis on productivity and product quality while adhering to all Regulatory and Statutory Requirement
• Work with HR Department to address employee grievances, conducts employee performance reviews, and timely submission of overtime record for computation of monthly salary
• Maintain and ensure work safety and practices
• Hire, evaluate and train employees to keep up with latest engineering management concepts and practices
• Establish and prepare process documentation such as work instruction, process specifications and assist on the quality plan
• Prepare reports and analyze data
• Assist in hiring of production personnel
• Maintain and update operating manuals for all the manufacturing equipment and facilities

What you’ll do

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our new AI Platform team. The AI Platform team's purpose is to make Airwallex an AI-driven company by leveraging cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies to drive innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience.

This role is based in Shanghai, Singapore .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership:
   Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of software engineers, machine learning engineers, and AI specialists.
   Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence.
2. Strategy & Vision:
   Develop and execute the strategy for the AI Platform team in alignment with Airwallex's overall business objectives.
   Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Airwallex remains at the forefront of AI innovation.
3. Project Management:
   Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of AI projects, ensuring they meet business requirements and deadlines.
   Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Operations to prioritize and deliver high-impact solutions.
4. Technical Expertise:
   Provide technical guidance and expertise in AI and machine learning including model development, deployment, and maintenance.
   Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of AI solutions.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
   Work closely with key stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities where AI can add value.
   Communicate progress, insights, and outcomes to executive leadership and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees would be an advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing high-performing teams.
• Technical Skills:
  Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  Strong understanding of generative AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g.,Langchain, LlamaIndex, etc).
  Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire a diverse team with a strong focus on delivering business-driven outcomes.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business problems and propose effective technical solutions.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts for .NET applications.
• Design and execute automated tests using frameworks such as MSTest, NUnit, xUnit.net, or SpecFlow.
• Perform manual testing as necessary, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs to resolution using tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on code quality from a testing perspective.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in C# programming language and .NET frameworks (e.g., ASP.NET Core, MVC).
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as MSTest, NUnit, xUnit.net, SpecFlow, Selenium WebDriver, or similar.
• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI.
• Knowledge of database testing techniques and ability to write SQL queries for data validation.

The price and arbitrage team is responsible for providing real time arbitrage opportunities by mining Kpler shipping and trade data. The team is also responsible for ingesting, cleaning, storing and publishing our prices datasets. As a staff engineer, you will participate in the evolution of the data platform and related service with the aim of extracting and consolidating disparate data sources, applying algorithms to large datasets and making them available to both internal and external clients.

Your Mission:
