Review, risk identification, preparation of deviations/qualifications, drafting and negotiation of various comprehensive infrastructure project-related contracts (NDA, engineering service contract, EPC contract, procurement terms and conditions, MOU/JV/Consortium agreement with partners, license agreement, etc.)
Troubleshooting, claims, and dispute resolution during project execution (Change orders/claim support for customers, handling bankruptcy and claims of subcontractors, equipment suppliers, etc., handling litigation and arbitration, etc.)
Coordination with external law firms as and when required for the above-mentioned activities.
Actively coordinate with the project team related to the contents of the EPC contract.
Make periodic reports related to the contract to the project management department and contract department.
Competencies / Preferred Skills:
At least 5 years of experience in the Life Science industry (preferably, not owner side, but contractor side).
At least 5 years of experience in legal department for contracting of various type of project-related contracts.
Advanced communication and negotiation skills is required to communicate and negotiate with clients.
Internal Information
- The Subcontract Engineer will provide the contract administration for various projects with a functional reporting line to the Contracts and QS Group Manager; working closely with the Project Managers, Engineers, Construction Managers & Construction Site Staff, Contracts Manager, Client staff, Subcontractors or Vendor and be able to effectively communicate and coordinate with all the parties.
- Work in all stages of project development and execution from concept design, pre to post-contract up to account finalization.
- Perform routine aspects of quantity surveying, sourcing contractors and/or vendors, contracts administration, cost estimation, cost reporting and account finalization.
- Attends to all contract administration matters and maintains proper documentation of the project - Owning all commercial aspects of the Projects.
- Compilation of bid documents including preparation of commercial documents, price schedule - Evaluate bid submissions, perform negotiation, and recommend awards.
- Contract documents preparation
- Evaluation and preparation of progress payment
- Cost estimation on the Request of Instruction, preparing Instruction for endorsement
- Assists in the close monitoring of project costs and cost report preparation - Assessment of variation claims including claims for EOT etc up to account finalization.
- Contract administration includes drafting replies to the contractor’s general correspondence and notices of claims.
- Resolve contractual and commercial issues with clients, contractors and/or suppliers

- Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in handling MEP packages in EPCM project within the Engineering or Construction industry
- Able to work independently and/or as a team
- Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects at one time
