We are seeking an energetic Security Engineer II to serve as a technical resource and leader. This position has two components and supports both our team that Onboards new customers and our MSS team that manages security devices for our customers.

• Act as a technical liaison between Proficio and its customers during the onboarding process.
• Review technical security posture (network, application, and database) for existing and newly acquired businesses or services.
• Perform security reviews and monitoring of the production environment. 
• Perform the installation and configuration of security monitoring tools in support of our ProSOC service.
• Use out of the box thinking as well as industry standard troubleshooting tools, such as, Wireshark, TCPDUMP, and other tools, to facilitate on-boarding of customer data sources.
• Work with senior staff to evaluate client security devices and make recommendations based on industry standards for security configurations.
• Assist Proficio engineering team with tasks related to the review and development of Managed Security Services related processes and procedures.
• Assist senior staff when they provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) services, engaging directly with clients to perform necessary research, answering questions and making recommendations based on industry standards and best practices.
• Participate in engineering team on-call rotation.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent experience
• 4-5+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer or Security Engineer working with a broad range of technologies
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Information Technology IT Security in a SOC or NOC environment working with a broad range of technologies highly preferred.
• Security certification required, such as, Security+ and Network+. Security certification such as SANS/GIAC, CISSP, CISA, CISM are a plus
• Basic Unix or Linux systems administration and command-line experience (Redhat/Linux, FreeBSD, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Experience with Windows Server security logs.
• Experience in the configuration and troubleshooting of IPSec VPN tunnels.
• Knowledge of network analysis tools, such as, Wireshark and TCPDump and SCP.

• Knowledge of UNIX and Windows environments as may pertain to Network and Security tasks including syslog, DNS, load balancers and BIND, BigIP command line on BSD, Windows Event Log.
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring and administering network and security devices, applications and systems
• General understanding of SIEM operations experience with Elasticsearch is a strong plus
• Managed Services experience preferred with a customer focused mindset that is willing to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer requirement absolutely required
• Experience performing vulnerability assessment and remediation using products such as Qualys, Nexpose or Nessus is a plus
• Proficient with Linux (scripting in Bash or Perl is required and Python is a plus)

Centre for Urban Solutions is a research centre in innovative solutions and technologies for urban centres and built environment. The key objective is to support efforts to provide leadership in research and development in innovative solutions for sustainable living and infrastructures for future cities.

The Coastal Protection and Flood Management Research Programme (CFRP) aims to advance knowledge in coastal and flood resilience and spur the growth of a vibrant research and development ecosystem for coastal and flood resilience in Singapore.

The (CFRP) research framework consists of four vertical programmes in which applied research is conducted to generate new knowledge and develop novel, effective, smart solutions for coastal protection and flood management. The framework has three horizontal programmes of broad outcomes that inform and support the verticals. The CFRP will develop innovative multi-functional coastal protection and flood management solutions and will: Catalyse the growth of a local R&D ecosystem to support long-term national agenda; Drive the development and application of effective and smart solutions; Facilitate translation and commercialisation of solutions.

As part of this programme, Vertical 1 Innovative Engineering Solutions, Project 4: Eco-cement enhanced methods for beach erosion control and beach land restoration through soil accumulation in Singapore, will explore eco-friendly and sustainable solutions for coastal protection and land reclamation over beach land inundated by sea level rise.

We are looking for a Research Fellow, based in School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), to work effectively for advancing the engineering solutions to develop a new Eco-cement enhanced method to form a barrier for coastal protection and land restoration for Singapore and beyond. The role will focus on performing independent and collaborative research to meet the project objectives, developing new solutions, and publishing high-quality journal papers to promote the international reputation of the Centre and the University.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on advanced environmentally friendly materials suitable for coastal barrier design and construction, considering durability, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design and oversee laboratory experiments with research team to test the performance and durability of materials under simulated coastal environmental conditions.
• Perform numerical study of the model test. Analyze and interpret data to make informed recommendations for costal protection system design and optimization
• Writing and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals
• Assist in securing external funding through grant applications and proposals

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Coastal Engineering, Biogeotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline
• At least 1-year research experience in related areas.
• Strong background in materials testing, analysis, and selection.
• Experience in ground improvement, geotechnical foundation design, finite element analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Publication track record is an advantage

Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural)

Responsibilities:

• Lead the site supervision team on all the Civil and Structural and Building Construction works.
• Assist Chief Resident Engineer and Construction Manager on all Civil & Structural site inspection issues, contract-related matters, and support the identification of defects and supervise rectification works.
• Address and respond to all Contractor’s RFI’s and technical submittals. Other work scopes include but are not limited to assessing method statements/instrumentation reading, coordinating with other discipline engineers, and liaising with the design team/QP from HQ.
• Attend all site/project-related meetings, discussions with clients and/or Contractors and lead in technical and work progress discussions.

Requirements:

• Good graduate Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, preferably recognized by the PE Board, Singapore.
• Registered with IES as Resident Engineer (Civil).
• A person with good communication and leadership skills.

Contract Period: 5 Years
