About the Role WE ARE LOOKING FOR... This role is responsible for providing (i) asset allocation recommendations from investment and capital market perspective for implementation in annual asset allocation review processes, (ii) development and implementation of AIA Singapore and AIA Brunei strategic asset allocation ("SAA"), dynamic strategic asset allocation ("DSAA") and asset-liability management ("ALM") framework from investment perspective to ensure investment strategies support competitive products and business objectives. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Lead the development and end-to-end implementation of AIAS SAA framework to ensure optimal outcome is achieved, by striking a delicate balance between investment performances, market constraints, capital and financial implications for AIAS. Collaborate with Actuarial to obtain the necessary approval from committees such as the Investment Committee ("IC"), Asset Liability Committee ("ALCO") and AIAS Board of Directors ("Board"). Set Investment asset mandates, portfolio mandates and benchmarks for AIAS and monitor execution of all mandate adherences to all MAS, as well as internal limits and overall investment performances. Act as the subject matter expert for application of SAA framework in product development process to ensure proper asset allocation is in place to support competitive products and to optimize investment outcome Co-Lead the relationship with AIA IM to ensure investment requirements are met and investment returns are optimized focusing on fixed income related asset classes. Work with Group Investment to implement Group Investment wide investment initiatives and projects to future proof AIAS Chief Investment Officer ("CIO") Target Operating Model ("TOM") Develop investment solutions with internal or external expertise, such as new asset classes or structured products to actively improve our risk adjusted investment returns Advise Investment Committee IC and Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) on investment opportunities by actively participating in discussions with Group Investment Participate in investment performance review and discussion with AIA Investment Management and Group Investment, focusing on fixed income asset classes to ensure investment requirements are met and risk-adjusted investment returns are optimized Shared responsibilities of investment analytics in monitoring and reporting performances, insights of assets, financial impact/capital impact and regulatory reporting for AIA Singapore assets Collaborate internally, across departments and AIA Group to develop best-in-class products for high-net-worth clients, affluent clients and ILP products Share the responsibility of ensuring the adherence to AIA Investment Governance Framework, while strengthening the control environment (as 1st Line of defense) and to facilitate the governance, risk and compliance culture, together with 2nd and 3rd Line of defense at AIA Singapore Share the responsibility of administration tasks such as coordinating committee meetings, month-end financial closing related activities, as well as regulatory requirements and queries WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR At least a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, financial engineering, data analytics, statistics, math, economics, or actuarial science. Masters degrees and/or additional professional qualifications such as CFA preferred. Minimum of 8 years strong proven track record as an investment officer focusing on fixed income in life insurance company or banks, or asset management companies. About the Role The role holder is responsible in developing effective control framework for reconciliation functions. The role holder will be responsible in reviewing existing processes and propose improvements. To lead the General Ledger Balance Sheet and complex bank account reconciliation process. To manage day to day reconciliations which would include monitoring of suspense accounts and reporting, recording and escalating any variances. To research variances and resolving reconciliation issues with Finance, Operations and Technology Divisions To understand and review existing end-to-end operational processes to identify inefficiencies and possible improvements & liaise with various internal and external parties to implement. To guide the team lead in proper documentation of key processes, workflows and controls in operational functions. To ensure transactions are uploaded into systems timely and completely. To participate in ad-hoc projects and tasks as and when assigned. Strategic Constantly review and lead improvement in reconciliation process and techniques. Keep abreast of developments in industry, regulatory, group and finance best practices. Governance Compliance with AIA control framework, accounting standards, insurance & investment regulations in Singapore, Hong Kong and IFRS, etc. Operational To ensure sound financial control and operation efficiency. Achievement against the following key performance indicators:- Transactions are properly accounted for with proper documentation by authorized personnel; Exceptional or material discrepancies/accuracy of accounting records are reported to the appropriate authority in accordance to operations manual; Timely and accurate reconciliation and system interfacing; Effectiveness and efficiency of follow-up in unreconciled item/discrepancies/reported exceptional cases; Process documentation and improvement; Analytical and problem solving. Job Requirement Degree or relevant qualification in finance-related field 5 to 8 years of operations accounting experience in an insurance setting Familiar with a range of insurance balance sheet accounts including but not limited to bank, premium suspense, payables, claims reserve. Proven track record of balance sheet management; including tracking of outstanding items, engaging stakeholders in improving operations flow and timeliness. About the Role This position is accountable for the provision of financial, management & regulatory reporting and analysis of AIAIM in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. What you will be doing Finance Governance and Control Assist the Associate Director and Head of Finance to perform final review of AIAIM monthly management accounts and financial position as well as MAS returns to be in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. Also responsible to assist Associate Director and Head of Finance for the preparation of the management report to the CEO, EXCO and Board on a periodically basis. Assist the Associate Director and Head of Finance to monitor and ensure Risk Based Capital (RBC) is in accordance to the MAS requirements. Assist the Associate Director and Head of Finance to monitor outsourced finance functions & ensure it is according to the MAS outsourcing guidelines. Responsible to develop and update Business Process Manuals (BPM) relating to the Finance Department according to ICFR and other internal control requirements (ISAE3402). To assist Associate Director and Head of Finance as the coordinator of ICFR and ensuring BPM for finance related functions are in place accordingly. Responsible to assist Associate Director and Head of Finance to develop and maintain finance related policies such as CAEP, ICFR, Materiality, Intercompany documentation etc with reference to the Investment Governance Framework and also Group guidelines. Financial, Management & Regulatory Reporting Ensure finance operations activities such as monthly prepayments, accruals , and the related reports including MAS and audited accounts are completed by Group Financial Solution (GFS) under AIA Shared Services Sdn Bhd (AIASS) on a timely basis and in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. Perform final review on GFS outputs and be accountable for all the deliverables. Monitor GFS service levels/KPI monthly. Prepare the relevant analysis and business information to support AIAIM's key stakeholder requirements for any ad-hoc requests. Review of tax/GST returns & other correspondence to/with IRAS and assist the Associate Director and Head of Finance for tax optimization and liaison with external tax consultants as well as Group Tax Assist Associate Director and Head of Finance in preparation of quarterly Board materials whereby applicable. Financial Planning & Budgeting Support the Associate Director and Head of Finance in reviewing performance against budget/forecast plan and provide board and management with timely and accurate commentaries. Capital Monitoring and Cash Management Assist the Associate Director and Head of Finance with cash forecasting & "zero functional cash" management, annual cash budgeting, determination of dividend amounts and the associated AAMP approvals. Finance Database and Dashboard Assist Head of Finance and Associate Director to build and maintain finance database and develop various management reporting dashboards. Working with IT to ensure seamless integration of finance database from various source systems on a frequent basis with latest available data. Continue to improvise the dashboards to be contemporaneous with regulatory and management reporting requirements. Other Responsibilities Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet financial reporting requirements and/or other projects. Prepare and update department BCP documentation to ensure that related BCP drills pertaining to systems etc are performed accordingly in collaboration with the Company BCM coordinator. What you will have Education University Degree in Accountancy Internationally Recognized Accounting Qualification (ACCA, etc) Experience 12 + Years finance functions including reporting and analysis in a multi-national Financial Institution, and/or accounting and auditing experiences in a big-size accounting firm 3 + years of supervisory or management experience in the above position Experience in asset management company and insurance industry is a must Specific Business Knowledge Strong knowledge of accounting standards and principles Good knowledge in the preparation of management, financial and regulatory reports and analysis Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Knowledge of how the SAP Accounting System and Business Intelligence System work and designed, and familiar with using the systems. Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications such as Power BI, MS Azure and preferably with python or SQL. Others Good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with local and group personnel at various levels. Good mentoring, coaching and mentoring skills.
