Finance Manager (Audit+Commercial preferred)

Our client is a leading Global MNC in the service industry with their regional HQ in Singapore.

This role will manage the finance, accounting and other areas as highlighted below and report into the regional finance director based in Singapore.

You should have strong controllership, FP&A business partnering and people management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage departmental operating budgets and costs according to annual allocation to ensure efficient usage of resources.
• Oversee the financial management, accounting and reporting in the country, including implementation of finance frameworks, policies and processes in accordance with local/international accounting standards.
• Strategically plan and monitor the annual financial budget, capital expenditures, liquidity, funding, etc. to ensure optimal working capital and minimization of financial risks.
• Monitor financial performance against strategic goals by providing financial forecasts, reviews and analyses.
• Address forecast deviations and potential financial challenges (e.g. cash flows, debt levels, etc.)
• Oversee the implementation of risk management, compliance, limits of authority and internal control practices to ensure safeguarding of cash and physical assets and minimizing financial liabilities.
• Ensure corporate directives on limits of authority, budgeted costs and cost control initiatives are implemented and adhered to.
• Formulate investment strategies, hedging policies and cash management practices (including optimal transaction banking infrastructure) to maximize yields, cost savings and efficiencies.
• Drive continuous improvements in accounting, reporting and internal control processes/systems to improve value given to stakeholders.
• Partner with and support the Country Senior Leadership Team on all matters related to finance, corporate initiatives/projects and cross-Business Unit activities.
• Present the consolidated financial reports and analyses to key stakeholders for decision making, with recommendations on accounting treatment.
• Manage annual target setting process within local business.
• Ensure implementation of global templates, coordinate timetable for reviews, consolidate plans and prepare annual budget presentation.
• Monitor and provide analysis on country monthly performance based on various data sources to derive a consistent picture of current performance, key issues, and action items.
• Manage local business continuous improvement initiatives to streamline Business Unit controlling processes/reporting and improve efficiencies through a better utilization of automated systems.
• Drive high quality business control support to the country.
• Manage all local internal interactions across Business Units/Functions on matters related to business controlling to ensure timely understanding of financial performance and adequate management of any financial issues.
• Prepare the necessary financial information to support country on contractual negotiations, client/customer profitability analysis, internal and external presentations, issues tracking and management, investments, and other key developments.
• Prepare in-depth analyses and commentaries to facilitate discussions on key financial items such as advertising and promotion spend, working capital utilization and cost development.
• Prepare and present country monthly operations review.
• Drive consistency of analytics and reporting

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and KSA:

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline
• CPA/CA preferred.
• At least 6 years’ relevant experience, with minimum 3 years’ management experience
• Relevant exposure to local and global retail environment and a proven track record of managing people, operations, and clients.
• Proven hands-on experience in SAGE accounting applications is an advantage.

Commercial Finance Manager (FMCG)

Our client is a global leader in the energy drinks category and is expanding its presence in APAC with a growing office in Singapore.

Reporting into the APAC Finance Director based in Singapore your roles and responsibilities will be as below:

• Business partnering

o Work with sales and marketing teams to identify key market, customer and brand performance trends and develop plans to mitigate any risks.

o Provide ad hoc information, insights and support on performance as required

o Ensure trade and brand investments are planned and controlled in line with budget targets

o Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in generating, developing and executing significant new growth platforms

o Drive an ROI mindset and capability within the International business through:

 Aligning financial performance metrics to key initiatives to create an understanding of planned return

 Provide robust plan vs actual assessment to ensure actual ROI is understood

 Embed and drive “plan, do, review, learn” rhythms.

• Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

o Support the development and completion of the budget and monthly rolling forecasts, ensure submissions reflect most likely outcome.

o Ensure consistent and logical assumptions are used in the planning processes.

o Ensure all deadlines are met and tasks completed in a robust manner.

o Identify and drive plans to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks as they evolve through the year.

• Insights

o Perform market / brand / price analysis as required to identify risks and opportunities to strategy execution and against competitive set

o Drive analyst and sharing of post promotional reviews.

• Reporting
