Within SCOR P&C, SCOR Specialty Insurance (single risk) is the central unit dedicated to insuring the business risks faced by large corporate companies. It has been serving its customers for 45 years and has maintained a continuous presence in the market by upholding a strong technical culture supported by SCOR’s best-in-class financial strength rating.
Business activity is structured around four regions (LATAM, NA, EMEA&C, APAC) through seven global lines of business (Property, Construction, Energy, Casualty/Financial Lines & Executive Risks, Marine/Transport, Political/Credit and Political Violence, Space/Aviation). Clients in each region are served by specialized underwriters who rely on SCOR's technical expertise and client knowledge.
Job Summary
- Key role is to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio of APAC Casualty/Financial line accounts through his/her relationships with brokers and through new sources, within the guidelines specified at group level that will contribute to the achievement of the underwriting plan
- Contribute to the overall results of the Group by sound technical and profitable underwriting
- Develop SCOR’s market share and leadership position in Casualty/Financial line segment
- Coordinate all marketing activities in APAC, representing overall Specialty Insurance (SI) and SCOR P&C’s interest in the market
- Enhance Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs
- Actively review new submissions and determine risk quality and pricing terms in line with underwriting guidelines, pricing terminology and market conditions
Key duties and responsibilities
- Generate new offers and promote the Group by pro-active marketing in accordance with the defined strategy and risk appetite.
- Receive, select and evaluate offers of Casualty/Financial line business from various sources by independently analysing all underwriting information including negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts.
- Contribute to the technical knowledge of sectors in which the jobholder is working.
- Maintain / enhancing relationships with clients, cedents and brokers in various market.
- Execute growth strategies including Key account management and Cross Sell Initiatives. Support other SCOR lines by cross selling (Property, Alternative Solutions, Construction and etc.)
- Research, develop and report on new areas of profitable growth, including new business development
- Maintain an accurate database and system of risks accepted in various IT systems used by SI, e.g. Forewriter, Omega II, UP, SalesForce.
- Produce reports of various formats for reporting purposes as required.
- Contribute to the claims settlement in conjunction with the claims department.

Special Projects:
- Engage in global underwriting projects and/or transversal initiatives.
Experience:
- 7+ years underwriting experience in insurance/reinsurance market
- Preferably professional line experience (Direct / Facultative)
- Working experience in international/multinational insurer/reinsurer
- Proven underwriting skills for complex Casualty/Financial line program of large corporates (wordings, quotations)
- Reinsurance and insurance knowledge
- Knowledge of competitors, cedents and brokers within APAC market and internationally
