• Current working experience in handling deployment activities specifically in open systems (Linux / Unix) in banking or financial industry.

Your key responsibilities:

As part of our global team you will work on various components as a Lead Software Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features. • Ownership and oversee development of application in alignment with the target architecture as per Domain and Enterprise Architecture blueprint.
• Provide technical expertise on the development of software and platform features, ensuring that appropriate security and risk factors are considered.
• Engage with business to understand the high-level requirements and propose the solution.
• Engage with Functional Analysts to help them in putting the right functional solution.

• Validate all the NFR expected as part of business requirement is met in the actual implementation.

Your skills and experience

• Minimum 12 years of working experience in general programming language such as Java (Eg: Java 8+)
• Experience in leading a team of developers providing technical leadership and people management.
• Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, front end frameworks such as React and or Angular.
• Hands-on experience building Microservices including writing Unit and Integration tests using Spring Boot, Cloud, and other relevant frameworks.

The Opportunity

We own, evolve and support the technology platforms that handle the post-execution processing for the Securities Execution, Prime Clearing, and Prime Brokerage businesses. This includes exchange and broker trade processing, internal firm/firm trades and client delivery across physical and synthetic products. We are at the start of a multi-year convergence program to deliver all of these businesses onto a single, high scalable platform, enabling business growth with reduced operational costs.

We’re looking for highly technical, commercially minded, software engineers who enjoy seeing things done differently to join us on this exciting journey.

About the team

Our team consists of 19 people in Singapore and around 100 globally. Almost all of our projects are cross-location and cross-function, meaning we work directly with Front Office, Operations, Legal, Tax, and our Engineering colleagues from those areas, across the wider firm.

We work directly with Operations and Securities sales/trading, to design and implement, a wide range of functions including trade aggregators, trade matchers, payment systems, intercompany trade booking and settlement systems, and connectivity to exchanges, counterparties and vendors. Our Exception Workflow and Business Intelligence tooling allows our Operations teams to respond to client enquiries and monitor service levels.

Our Post Execution platform consists of a variety of applications that demand high throughput, performance and availability, including our strategic new Post Execution Sequencer platform which is a brand new/greenfield initiative to converge all of our businesses onto a single technology platform, to have much better scalability, improved resiliency and reducing the time needed to develop and deliver new features.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of responsive web development, with professional React hooks experience and advanced JavaScript / Typescript proficiency.
• Experience with grid-based layouts, eg. ag-grid and flexible layouts.
• Solid experience in and strong desire on building highly efficient and performant UI code
• Building web socket-based (and/or REST API) integration with server-side.
• Desire to build strong and efficient SDLC practices.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a hands-on experience of debugging and optimizing code, as well as automation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and drive. Excellent communication skills required, able to contribute to discussions on design and strategy

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with Java or similar object oriented language (e.g. C++, C#, Scala, Python).
• Financial market knowledge is a plus
• Experience leading/managing a small team of developers

Business Area Description:

The Synthetic Product Group (SPG) business offers institutional clients and hedge funds products which are optimal with respect to tax, balance sheet and funding. Business revenues come from commissions, financing, and dividends through the trading of CFD and Equity Swap OTC instruments alongside futures, ETFs, and structured products. It is part of a front to back alignment where engineers are embedded with the revenue generating part of the business. This provides opportunities to partner closely across the SPG organization to deliver the firm even more effectively and efficiently to our clients

SPG engineering team is a dynamic and innovative front office team that partners directly with trading, sales, quants, operations, prime services, and other engineering teams across the globe. We focus on building and enhancing the applications and workflows that support the SPG business and our clients.

As a key full-stack developer of the team, you will be at the forefront of various revenue-driven technology builds and working in a fast-paced changing environment. You may be working on a new business initiative to design the trade flow for the firm's synthetic product offerings. You may be building a cutting- edge technology stack that parallelizes the processing of contract lifecycle events with utilities to capture and visualize system performance. With this role, you will be getting lots of exposure on understanding the business model/principles, as well as how to serve clients and the firm by using your business and technical expertise. You will be participating in the full product lifecycle from requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, support, and monitoring system performance. Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain high-performance, high-availability, high-capacity, yet nimble and adaptive platforms for risk hedging, trade execution, trade booking and workflow management as well as post-trade processing.
• Design and build solutions to enhance and scale up the infrastructure to support business growth and new products, in a holistic front-to-back approach
• Collect data and metrics from existing systems to guide decision making and business intelligence, developing or enhancing tools as necessary to collect them·
• Communicate with traders, sales, strategists, operations, and compliance officers to gather new requirements, design workflow, deliver features and provide user support

• 1 year of professional experience in full-stack software development
• Hands-on experience with Java
• A solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• A solid understanding of data structures and algorithms as well as systems design
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team as well as independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working experience in the financial industry and front-office facing environment
• Financial knowledge and good understanding of Equities Synthetic or Derivative products
• Prior experience in Web or UI development such as Angular/React
• Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Spring/Guice
• Prior experience with Linux shell scripting and systems programming
• Experience building real-time low latency systems (order management systems, complex event processing or transaction sequencing architectures)
• JVM internals, tuning for low-latency, GC-free real-time operation
• Prior experience with event-driven systems
• Prior experience with event sourcing (sequenced core stream) based architecture
