JOB DESCRIPTION
Job-holder is responsible for handling Accounts Payables and their relation to the General Ledger.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full spectrum of account payable function
- Ensure payments to suppliers are made timely
- Ensure monthly schedules are updated promptly
- Review and ensure that Account Payable Sub Ledgers to General Ledger and the respective bank accounts to the bank statements are reconciled on a regular basis.
- Review of Supplier Reconciliation statement in accordance with its stated and established time scales and standards
- Review and ensure Purchase Request accounts coding is appropriate.
- Review accounts payable aging & periodic reconciliation of vendors statement of accounts
- Manage all month-end closing/year-end closing activities that are related to AP including GL journal entries
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about discrepancies and queries on payment status & other issues relating to invoices
- Manage petty cash and monthly staff expenses claim
- Maintain Fixed Asset register which includes asset tagging and updating of fixed assets promptly
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules
- Assist in monthly intercompany transactions and balance schedules
- Perform month-end closing and ensure its completeness and accuracy
- Support internal & external audit activities as necessary in compliance with Group policies
- Filing of taxes, e.g. Withholding tax if any
- Assist in the preparation of Quarterly GST Reporting
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer/Senior Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum Degree or Diploma qualification in Accounting
- At least 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience
- Knowledge of accounts payable
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Proficient in data entry and management
- Meticulous and organized
- Team player
- Integrity and honesty
- Possess good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues, students and other stakeholders in a multicultural environment
- Ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to multitask
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office and ERP system
- Prior experience using SAP S4HANA will be an added advantage
