Group Treasury forms part of the wider Financial Services division. It is responsible for the Group’s funding and liquidity management, capital forecasting and execution, and asset and liability management. Group Treasury works closely with the business units across a number of areas providing strategic assistance and advice to support the decision-making processes of the Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO), Executive Committee and the Board.
Treasury Finance provides management accounting and product control support for the Treasury desks of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s international branches. It also provides daily and monthly accounting and performance management and planning for the Treasury desks, the Treasury leadership team and Group Finance. In addition, Treasury Finance provides regulatory reporting and related project and strategy implementation support, whilst ensuring a robust financial and operational control framework exists and operates effectively to safeguard the Bank.
You will report directly to the Executive Manager (GSTF International Finance).
Do work that matters:
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Be responsible for the production of daily P&L and operation of Treasury Finance controls for the Singapore office;
- Be a first point of contact to support the Front Office on queries relating to other Treasury related metrics including but not limited to Liquidity reporting, Transfer Pricing and Hedge Accounting;
- Produce regular insights and analysis into the macro-economic environment, Treasury positioning and P&L outcomes;
- Support the project pipeline and be a champion of the continuous improvement agenda for the Offshore Treasury Finance team;
- Manage the pipeline of Treasury Finance management reporting deliverables and operational improvement initiatives;
- Be a trusted advisor and key point of contact between the Offshore Treasury Front Office, Business Units, Group Finance and Risk teams;
- Seek customer feedback, address issues in the context of continual process improvement and provide a high level of customer service.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a Product Control role, preferably supporting a Treasury function
- Strong knowledge of Treasury products including cash, bonds, futures, repos and vanilla derivatives;
- Experience with Murex, WallStreet and/or PeopleSoft General Ledger;
- Evidence of project/continuous improvement delivery and ability to support the development of other Treasury Finance team members;
- Proven strong communicator and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; and
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field and professional Qualifications in Accounting (E.g. ACA, FCA) or related Finance field (e.g. CFA).
Candidates with the following experience in addition to the above will be highly regarded:
- Liquidity Reporting, Transfer Pricing and/or Hedge Accounting; and
- Tableau reports creation and knowledge of programming languages e.g. SQL and Python.
