As a Finance Excellence Partner (Value Enabler) of the Insights & Regional Partnering Chapter you play an important role in equipping the regional and affiliate organizations (including Value Creators) with the necessary tools and insights to enable effective commercial and financial partnering.

The Enterprise Partnering Stream will be involved in working closely with regional stakeholders including the Head of APAC, Value Stream & Chapter Leads, Sub Regional Heads, Head of iKAM and other functional heads with regional responsibility. The scope of partnering here would encompass aspects including pre launch & launch decisions, post launch monitoring, strategic & operational pricing, understanding market evolution in various APAC markets including trends, risks & opportunities, establishing partnerships with external stakeholders etc.

The Opportunity:

• Work with Strategic Finance & Other stakeholders in understanding the overall planning expectations for E2E planning activities including Business Plan (T3), Target Confirmation (T0) , Baseline Setting & Monthly Outlook
• In collaboration with Finance Enterprise Partner (Value Creator) and affiliate commercial teams, provides state of the art analytics and innovative insights, tools for resource allocations and financial modeling expertise on affiliate level.
• Partnering with Regional stakeholders on pre launch, launch readiness, post launch monitoring, strategic & operational pricing, partnerships with 3rd party entities to complement our portfolio offering, create new avenues for growth including insurance, consulting etc, iKAM pitching, negotiation, finalization and monitoring, market development, Risks and Opportunities monitoring and supporting Sub Regional Heads, Phase In Phase Out activities, inventory optimization and write off monitoring, new revenue streams, business models etc
• Work with Business Insights Specialists/Data Scientist and IT to ensure that technological advances are integrated in insights generation processes (e.g., forecast modeling automation). Drive advanced analytics & data modeling across affiliates (external data, supply-chain, spend analytics, vendors, margin erosion, etc.)

Who you are

• You have 8 years of relevant experience in financial planning, budgeting and analysis as a proven business partner
• Good Presentation skills and BI tool know-how (e.g. tableau)

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for providing leadership to the Regional Finance team of SEA, assisting in the development and implementation of Finance strategies, policies and procedures in the geography, and providing support to senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

• Assist group finance head in the development and implementation of Finance policies and practices in the region.
• Lead finance controllers of SEA region.
• Supports the designs and delivery of Finance priorities and organizational strategies in line with the organization’s business plans
• Supports the design and implementation of the various systems to improve efficiency as the organization grows (e.g. Accounting, Budgeting/MIS, Statutory Audit)

Functional

• Develop relevant measurable performance metrics for the regional Finance team, and proactively tracks performance against the metrics to ensure fiscal control and financial feasibility
• Will be responsible for preparation and monitoring of budget. Need to work closely with the Country Directors, Principals, and other stakeholders to understand and gather information required for preparation of budget (e.g. number of new admissions, equipment requirements, etc.)
• Oversees the day-to-day financial/accounts operation, transactions and timely collection of fee and the team’s adherence to the organization’s accounting systems and standards.
• Responsible for ensuring the team’s compliance with all aspects of financial and internal control, financial and management reporting, business planning, statutory reporting, tax compliance, transaction processing and credit management in the country.
• Will lead and/or coordinate with all the stakeholders for timely and accurately monthly/annual books closure.
• Ensures prompt and accurate collation and analysis of monthly MIS for presentation to senior leadership team.
• Managing treasury function which includes but not limited to tracking of the outstanding loan in the country, monitoring of covenants and optimum utilization of fund.
• Will be actively involved for preparation of business model for acquisition and green field projects.
• Will be involved in acquisition and funding of new schools. Once school is acquired, he will be responsible and/or will work with integration team for complete finance integration.

Interaction

• Works closely with shared service team in India for day to day accounting, books closure and MIS work.
• Interact with other departments and academic team to support operational activities of the campus.
• Work with statutory and internal auditors for timely completion of audit.
• Builds strong networks and maintains good working relationships with internal and external partners to keep abreast of the current business climate and macroeconomic trends

People Focus

• Collaborates proactively with Human Resource to continuously increase competency within the function to meet future organizations needs through the development and recruitment of talent
• Leads the recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of employees in the shared services team of the function
• Builds and manages high performing teams within the function by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development

Minimum Qualifications

• CA/CMA/CPA

Experience

• Atleast 20 years of post-qualification experience in accounts, audit, taxation, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and MIS reporting.
• Must have lead a finance/accounts team for at least 5 years and worked in an organisation with Big4 auditors.
• Experience in integration and automations for ERP implementation
• Experience in education sector will be preferred.

SUMMARY

Report to: Head of Finance

You will handle a comprehensive range of accounting duties and assist the Head of Finance based in Hong Kong with financial and management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities shall include but not limited to daily and monthly accounting duties such as supervising external accounting firm in ensuring accurate execution of Accounts Payable & Receivable, assisting in month-end closing, preparation of monthly regional consolidated financial statements and support actively in budgeting and forecasting for countries in scope – Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

THE ROLE

· Manage the annual audit process, addressing all queries from external auditors.

· Handle tax and transfer pricing inquiries from local tax authorities.

· Prepare checklist and consolidate documentation for annual corporate tax filing.

· Verify monthly / quarterly GST filings before submission to local authorities.

· Support actively in the financial planning, yearly budget and 4+8 forecast process.

· Responsible for Corporate Secretarial duties.

· Review and analyze full suite of month-end closing activities, including financial statements to ensure postings are done accurately in accordance in compliance with local regulations.

· Responsible for preparation of various financial reports across markets in scope, including:

• Daily Flash Report
• Monthly Sales Report
• Store Performance Report (TP v E2E)
• Monthly P&L statements with qualitative comments vs Budget / Forecast
• Monthly Cash Flow Report
• Monthly Intercompany Reconciliation

· Organize and participate in the annual stock count and generate stock discrepancy reports.

· Generate expense reports on a quarterly basis for active monitoring. Proactively alert stakeholders and to offer guidance on effective expense management from a financial perspective.

· Provide specific accounting instructions to the outsourced vendor related to AP & AR activities – e.g. the posting of specific cost centre and G/L lines

· Continuous maintenance of partnership with local appointed banks to facilitate cash flow related matters.

· Continuous maintenance of partnership with appointed local insurer brokers on claims related to damage shipments and missing inventory.

· Responsible for CITIES permit applications for Australia based on shipment frequency.

· Prepare audit pack for HQ.

· Support and lead Accounts Executive.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with 5 years of relevant experience

Experience in managing outsourced vendors relating to AP & AR activities

Proficient in forecasting and budgeting experience

Statutory reporting experience in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia

Experience with tax matters and internal/external audits

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advanced Excel Skills (including pivot tables)

Finance Executive - Regional Operational Treasury

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Weekly Cash Balance Report:

o Compile and analyze data from various banking platforms to report on the company's cash position.

o Identify trends in cash usage and provide insights for optimizing cash management.

• Cashflow Rolling Forecasting:

o Develop and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast to project future cash positions.

o Collaborate with various departments to gather forecasting information.

• Foreign Exchange Management:

o Monitor SGD/USD exchange rates daily and assess the company's exposure to currency risk.

o Initiate FOREX deals as necessary to hedge against currency risk in line with the company's financial policies.

• Loan and Fixed Deposit Management:

o Coordinate monthly loan drawdowns and manage the rollover of fixed deposits, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with contractual obligations.

• Banking and Payment Operations:

o Update bank mandates as needed to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

o Prepare and authorize payment instructions, overseeing the payment processing to ensure transactions are executed correctly and on time.

o Manage operational treasury activities, ensuring optimal liquidity for daily operations and compliance with internal controls.

• Intercompany Financial Management:

o Prepare and issue monthly advances to intercompany entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with intercompany agreements.

o Manage the preparation and distribution of monthly intercompany P&L and balance sheet reports for management reporting purposes (MRP).

o Execute billings related to intercompany loans, payments on behalf and other non-trade transactions ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.

• Intercompany Transactions and Reconciliations:

o Oversee intercompany transactions, ensuring they are recorded and executed according to agreed terms.

o Perform monthly reconciliations of intercompany accounts, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Month-End Financial Postings:

o Responsible for the accurate posting of journal entries related to treasury operations, including loan interest, bank reconciliations, and lease liabilities.

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment

We are looking for a Regional Finance Manager that combines Business Partnering, Financial Planning & Analysis and Controlling and to support the APAC Commercial team. The position will be based in Singapore and will report into the APAC Regional Finance Head.

The role will be responsible for:

Business Partnership and Performance controlling

• Achieve financial targets with business partner(s) by analyzing financial results; providing insights and ensuring compliance and integrity
• Tracking KPIs
• Monitor Countries performance in target fulfillment
• Challenge the teams on the current ways of working and aim to achieve increase in efficiency and profitability
• Coordinate together with the APAC Regional Finance Head the Annual Budget and the Quarterly Forecasts
• Review Business cases for investments or M&A activities.

Management Reporting

• Develop reports to support closing process, variance analysis, forecasting & budgeting of Revenue, Gross Margin, SG&A Expenses and other metrics
• Review the monthly performance of the markets and the Region as a whole
• Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team on various initiatives or analytics
• Monthly standard reporting and ad-hoc analytics for both Wholesale and Retail
• Key contributor on the preparation of presentations to Group Management.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Finance professional with strong expertise in Business Partnering and Financial Controlling, preferably working in large global organizations. S/He will have strong communication skills to work with internal teams and major stakeholders within the corporate functions to resolve complex issues.
