Your new role In this role, you will be working as a Software Engineer within an agile team delivering and helping design and build our next generation data mesh ecosystem for our applications and services to the Markets Regulation Business Stream. You will be making an impact on our strategic platforms, collaborating with other engineers, architects and product managers to deliver on our technology roadmap with a focus on best practice within our software engineering domain. What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant certification. Expert level experience in Java and preferably in Spark and Python. Well versed in Cloud architecture and have delivered to one or more; Azure (preferred). Demonstrate hands-on engineering in large-scale complex enterprises(s), ideally in the banking / financial industry. Worked with modern tech - data streaming, real-time & batch processing and compute clusters. Working with knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, designing and implementing scalable solutions. Experience of working in a continuous architecture environment, iterating and improving solutions including test-driven development. Experience of CI/CD pipelines - ADO, GitHub or Gitlab. RWEST’s expansion within the Asia-Pacific region has been rapid. Our Singapore trading floor is now home to around 80 colleagues and continues to grow. We have additional offices in China, Japan and Indonesia, and are building our footprint in Australia. As the business expands, we need a strong Market Risk team in Singapore to partner with the traders and ensure the resilience and continued success of our business in the whole Asia-Pacific region. Your responsibilities  You will work closely with our teams in the Asia-Pacific region, analysing and explaining trading strategies and assessing the profitability of the trading desks. You will also have daily contact with Risk colleagues in Europe. Your day to day activities will generally include: Reporting to the Board and other senior stakeholders on the key risks and P&L movements within the trading desks  Conducting risk assessments on new products Checking that traders are operating within agreed limits Using your initiative to work on new or existing projects and ideas to add value to the business Working with colleagues in Risk and other departments in our European offices Your profile  We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, and wishes to grow their career within a rapidly expanding energy trading company. Experience of risk management, e.g. application of given limit measurement concepts and usage of complex models. Knowledge of commodity markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Understanding of commodity trading and the trading lifecycle. Experience of modelling, option theory, Greeks, pricing models, stress testing, VaR concepts.
