Responsibilities:

• Liaise with policyholders, intermediaries, investigators, surveyors, adjusters, investigators, lawyers, 3rd party claimants, group companies etc;
• Train and guide assistants in their support role;
• Manage and process claims expeditiously, professionally and equitably within agreed service benchmarks or applicable protocols;
• Ensure reserves are provided or updated in a timely and realistic manner;
• Add value to underwriters by advising underwriters on issues discovered during claims handling such as gap in policy wording and risk improvement;
• Periodic review of files, as and when required;
• Ensure recovery claims are pursued and followed up periodically;

Responsibilities for QUANTITATIVE RESEARCHER

The primary responsibility is to apply mathematical and statistical techniques to address practical investment challenges, shape our insights into how the markets will behave and develop investment models to generate new alpha through quantitative, event-driven signals.

• Identify, collect, and manipulate large sets of financial markets, industry-specific, and macroeconomic data to analyse and forecast business, industry and economic conditions and trends required for alpha generation;
• Monitor any relevant academic and financial market research to identify and synthesize secondary, qualitative, and/or and behavioural data that may be difficult to gather via primary research to complement primary research findings and expand the collection of market analytics and strategy signals;
• Apply tick-level data analysis and real-world trading experimentation to test the efficacy of factors and define strategy decision-making and asset allocation decisions across asset classes;
• Work with execution team on trading strategies and analysis to ensure current and proposed ideas are implemented, monitored, and executed efficiently and accurately;
• Regularly present findings and ideas to management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in related fields such as Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent
• Programming and database skills like MATLAB, Python, Bloomberg, SQL, VB, Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated ability to complete high-level investment related research independently
• Preference given to candidates with hands-on experience with statistical testing, A/B testing, predictive modelling, regressions, factor analysis
• Preference given to candidates with relevant experience in algorithmic trading, automated market making, and/or proprietary trading
• Bilingual in both English and Mandarin to communicate with team members.
