Reporting to the Head of Finance, this position is to support the Finance Senior Manager in the provisioning of financial, management & regulatory reporting and analysis of AH in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Finance Operations, Governance and Control

1. Supports partnering with other function stakeholders in the day-to-day Finance related queries around expense, claims and finance related system queries and issues.

2. Assist in the preparation of the schedules and calculation for monthly billings for Vitality and initiating billings for Amplify as required.

3. Monitor clearing of GRIR aging report with timely escalation should there be long-aged balances noted.

4. Assist in liaising and giving timely instructions to GFS for the recording of transactions and payments. Assist the Finance Senior Manager to ensure finance operations activities and the related reports including audited accounts are completed by Group Financial Solutions (“GFS”) under AIA Shared Services Sdn Bhd (“AIASS”) on a timely basis and in accordance to the applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines. Perform review on GFS outputs and deliverables and escalate as required. Monitor GFS service levels/KPI monthly.

5. Assist in monitoring of actual GOE performance against the Strategic Planning budget and/or latest forecast and performing quality analysis for the MTD and YTD variances for Vitality.

6. Support in performing review of AH monthly management accounts and financial position to be in accordance to the AIA Group accounting policies, applicable accounting and regulatory policies, standards and guidelines.

Economics & Investment Strategy

We manage the Total Portfolio to earn sustainable returns over the long-term, and enable the flexibility to navigate the path over the shorter term.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will articulate GIC’s strategic outlook, determine asset exposures and benchmarks, implement new return streams and investment models, and optimise the risk-reward of the GIC Portfolio.

You will help to characterise the outlook for the global macro investment environment, conduct strategic research, and contribute to the Global Research Network. You will also be given the opportunity to develop medium-term investment strategies for the total portfolio, and help with the management of key top-of-the-house portfolios.

What will you do as a China Economist?

• Provide thought-leadership for the organisation for the China macro outlook
• Formulation of key economic forecasts and coverage of policy developments
• Conduct thematic research into longer-term structural issues pertinent for the GIC portfolio
• Communication of views effectively with stakeholders and working closely with the various investment teams
• Help to manage and refine team’s overall investment framework and develop actionable investment recommendations

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• At least 10 years of investment experience analyzing China macro
• Ability to formulate independent views and investment recommendations.
• Strong analytical abilities, proficient with MS office products and databases, (e.g. Macrobond, CEIC, Bloomberg, Datastream, etc.)
• Ability to connect the dots, with strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills. Able to work collaboratively and foster internal debate.

Salary: $5,000.00 - $9,000.00 per month

Responsiblities

• Managing day to day bank relationships and utilization and placing transactions with our suite of financing banks.
• Further liaising with the same bank throughout the life of the entire transaction to ensure all concerns and issues are promptly addressed.
• Preparing and/or 2nd checking all necessary trade documents such as bank cover letter, bank drafts, commercial invoice etc to ensure all documents presented is acceptable to banks and counterparties.
• Prepare, pre-check export LC and documents against contract and ILC to ensure compliant presentation.
• Advise necessary amendments/revisions to ensure workability of all trade finance instruments.
• Follow up on export / collection bills discrepancies, acceptance payment and any disputes.
• Liaison with banks for rates on L/C confirmations and discounting
• Understanding of UCP600, URC, ISBP and Incoterms.
• Monitoring of daily cash inflows and outflows to ensure prompt receipts from customers and timely payments to suppliers.
• Make sure each business transaction is properly documented and recorded.
• Undertake additional functions and duties when required.

Qualification:

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Preferably Min Diploma holder with one years of experience in commodities trade finance within a trading house or bank.
