Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist the Head and Department in the smooth and efficient operation of the FNOL in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
• Contributes to organizational profitability by ensuring that claims are effectively registered and administered to in accordance with legal requirements, industry regulations, company guidelines and standards. Effectively manages loss costs and claim expenses.
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both internal (within Claims Division and within the company) and external business, such as underwriting, risk control, staff counsel and actuarial partners.
• Makes recommendations on claim policy and procedures; and helps to drive claim initiatives.
• Assist the Head and Department in registration of incoming claims notifications, ensuring proper documentation and completeness of information, setting of initial reserves and authorizing payments within DAL.
• Remains current on state/territory regulations and issues, industry activity and trends.
• Ensure that the service standards are maintained through proper and timely response to both intermediaries and policyholders.
• Adopt practices to be a responsive claims administrator. Able to troubleshoot and provide solutions.
• Proactively work in collaboration with Underwriters, Distribution, P&C Claims, Finance, Actuary and Risk Management on business matters.
• Ensure compliance and no breach in DAL and policies set for self and team.
• Support Head in additional responsibilities assigned, as and when required.
• Assist in special projects when required.
Requirements:
• Basic Degree/Diploma in Business, Marine or technical field related to the industry with CGI
• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience in insurance claims operations.
• Some knowledge of insurance claims operations and procedures.
• Some knowledge of the products and understanding of the policy wordings in relation to claims.
• Some understanding of legal, regulatory and litigation, procedural requirements in relation to the insurance industry.
