Novo Holdings Asia is looking for an ambitious and proactive Associate to take part in the identification, negotiation, and due diligence processes of investment opportunities within the healthcare and life science industry across the Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will be part of the established investment team in making value-creating investments in healthcare and life science companies.

We established our Asian life sciences investment platform in 2020, with offices in Singapore and expanded to Shanghai in 2022. Our teams invest in healthcare companies across the continent. We see tremendous long term investment opportunities in Asia given the dynamic region and fast-growing life science sector. In Asia, we have built a portfolio of more than 10 high quality investments across various segments of healthcare, life science, and bioindustrials. Our goal is to increase this significantly and we are looking for a fantastic team member to join us on this journey.
The Job
You will be working out of the Singapore office, in close collaboration with colleagues globally. As an Associate, you will help ensure that the investment team is well-informed and well-prepared for making investment decisions and create a strong network across the region. The team in Singapore focuses on growth- and principal investments and across subsectors within the life sciences and bioindustrials.
Your tasks will include:
·      Evaluating new investment opportunities
·      Performing financial due diligence and modelling business cases
·      Creating financial models to assess new potential and current investments
·      Preparing internal investment documentation and presentations for the governing bodies of Novo Holdings
·      Expanding industry expertise through conducting desktop research and expert calls, and attending relevant conferences
·      Monitoring and reporting on portfolio companies
Further to this, you will collaborate with other departments and teams located in Copenhagen, Shanghai, San Francisco, Boston, and London on investment projects.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or beyond from a top-tier institution and 1-2 years’ relevant working experience at a top investment bank, leading consultancy, private equity or investment firm. We are looking for a strong investment professional withan interest in life sciences.
Experience from life science private equity, business development or consultancy will be an advantage, but not a requirement.
 In addition, we imagine that you have:
·      A bachelor’s  degree or beyond from a top-tier institution in Finance or Economics; a graduate degree within science would be an added advantage
·      Excellent analytical skills, comprehensive understanding of valuation and financial modelling
·      Industry and investment expertise within healthcare IT, pharma services, MedTech, and biotech is a plus
·      Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
·      Fluency in English, oral and written.
·      High level of IT skills, in particular creating PowerPoint presentations and Excel models/analyses
