JOB SUMMARY
- The job holder will be required to perform an independent validation of credit risk, treasury and marketing models that are being used for various purposes across the bank.
- Validation tasks include qualitative and quantitative review of various model components and then complete the validation report. Assessment of the model components against relevant regulatory requirements (such as EBA IRRBB, Credit IRB, IFRS9 or ICAAP) will also be required. The job holder will need to have strong hands on / technical experience in quantitative / risk modelling and/or model validation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform an independent validation of new and existing credit risk, treasury and marketing models.
- Qualitative review of model development process including underlying assumptions & theoretical basis, including assessment of model components against relevant regulatory requirements
- Quantitative assessment of model performance via data evaluation and statistical testing.
- Documentation of validation findings and communication of results to senior management and presentation to relevant committees.
- Manage relationship with stakeholders on model issues, achieving suitable resolutions.
- Manage and complete the model validation from end to end, meeting the planned timelines and required standards.
- Supervise junior members of GMV team
- Recommend improvements in the models
- Review regulatory requirements and industry practice such as EBA IRRBB, Credit IRB and IFRS9 rules.
- Assist Head of Model Validation in addressing concerns or questions relating to the models.

- Attend Credit Model Assessment where the report is being presented for approval

- Review regulatory requirements and industry practice such as EBA IRRBB, Credit IRB and IFRS9 rules.
- Assist Head of Model Validation in addressing concerns or questions relating to the models.

Qualification
- Graduate level (or equivalent) qualifications in statistics, banking, finance, econometrics, mathematics or related quant field.
- 4+ years of hands on experience in quantitative modelling and/or model validation with focus on credit risk models, marketing models and treasury models
- Extensive knowledge of model-related regulations and model applications including IRRBB, IRB and IFRS9 and general model risk management such as PRA SS 1/23
- Extensive knowledge of credit risk portfolio management, liquidity risk and applications of models for marketing and recommendation systems
- Ability to manage a project end to end, strong project management skill set
- Solid programming skill such as Matlab, SAS, R or Python with hands on experience in credit risk modelling
