I) Job Purpose:

The Food Processing Worker is responsible for various tasks in the food manufacturing process. These tasks include preparing raw materials, operating machines, monitoring production, ensuring quality control, packaging finished products, and maintaining cleanliness, safety and quality standards in the production area.

II) Roles & Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Raw Materials: Prepare and handle raw food ingredients by washing, sorting, cutting, and measuring ingredients according to production specifications / instructions from the production supervisor.
• Operating Machines: Operate food processing equipment, such as cutters, grinders, saw machine, and etc. And to adjust equipment settings as necessary to ensure product consistency and quality.
• Quality Control: Inspect food products for quality, including checking for defects, weight, and packaging integrity. Report any deviations from quality standards.
• Packaging and Labelling: Package finished food products according to packaging specifications, ensuring products are labelled correctly and comply with regulatory standards.
• Sanitation and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in the work area by regularly cleaning machines, equipment, and production floors to meet hygiene and safety regulations.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and practices to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling of tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Inventory Management: Assist in tracking raw materials and finished products, reporting inventory levels and shortages to the production supervisor.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient production processes and resolve any operational issues.
• Any other work as assigned.

III) Job Requirements:

• Permanent night shift (10pm to 7am), 6-days week from Tuesdays to Sundays.
• Able to work in a very cold environment due to frozen seafood storage.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under time constraints.

IV) Qualifications and Skills:

• GCE ‘N’ Level academic qualification or equivalent. Experience working with food safety & food processing in manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Ability to operate production machinery.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
• Experience in operating a reach truck would be an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

V) Experience:

At least 3 years of working experience in a related field.

Salary Range: $2,500 to $3,500

I) Job Purpose:

The Fish Cutter is responsible for cutting, filleting, and processing fish in preparation for sale or distribution. This role involves ensuring that the fish is processed according to food safety and quality standards, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the work area, and adhering to safety regulations.

II) Roles & Responsibilities:

Fish Processing:

• Cut, fillet, and portion fish into specific sizes, shapes, or pieces as required by customer orders.
• Remove bones, skin, and scales from fish while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
• Process fish for different markets accordingly to the Production Supervisor’s instruction.

Equipment Operation:

• Safely operate various cutting tools and machinery, including knives, saws, and fish filleting machines.
• Ensure that equipment is regularly cleaned, maintained, and sharpened to maintain efficiency and safety standards.

Quality Control:

• Inspect fish for quality, freshness, and any defects before processing.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards throughout the processing and handling stages.

Packaging and Storage:

• Pack processed fish in appropriate containers for order delivery.
• Ensure proper storage of fish, including the use of refrigeration or freezing, to maintain freshness.

Health and Safety:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, following all sanitation protocols.
• Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Inventory Management:

• Keep track of fish stock levels and notify supervisors of any shortages or excesses.
• Assist in the rotation of stock to ensure the use of older fish first (FIFO method).

Others:

I) Job Purpose:

The Production Supervisor (Food Processing) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of our food processing facility. He/she is to in-charge of the overall production activities, and monitor the staff’s performance. He/she must ensure that all staff adhere to the HSE rules & regulations, and to abide and upkeep the food processing & quality standards.

II) Roles & Responsibilities:

• Supervision of Production Line: Determining sequence of daily operations, and the use of proper tools / equipment. Overseeing the safety of the food preparation process by inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure safety standards are fulfilled. Monitoring employee attendance, performance, and productivity to ensure that all staff members are performing their jobs efficiently.
• Inventory and Resource Management: Monitor materials and supplies, coordinating with purchasing and logistics department to avoid production delays.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, quality checks, and shift reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
• Team Leadership: Direct and train the co-workers, monitor their performance, and to ensure the overall cohesiveness and efficient team.
• Quality Control: Carry out checks / inspections to ensure that the products meet food safety and quality standards. To address to quality issues promptly as and when required.
• Compliance: Enforce adherence to health, safety, and food manufacturing regulations.
• Training: Providing training to staff members on food safety practices and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in work processes, and to implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Any other work as assigned.

The General Foreman (Food Processing) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of our food processing facility. He/she is to supervise production activities, and monitor the staff’s performance. He/she must also ensure that all safety and quality standards are met.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Monitoring employee attendance, performance, and productivity to ensure that all staff members are performing their jobs efficiently.

• Determining the required manpower, and assign workers to carry out the duties to complete specific tasks. Likewise, to supervise the co-workers and helping them in their work.
• Establishing work schedules and ensuring that co-workers are following them, as well as addressing issues that may arise during the workdays.
• Determining sequence of daily operations, and the use of proper tools / equipment. Overseeing the safety of the food preparation process by inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure safety standards are fulfilled.
• Providing training to staff members on food safety practices and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Identifying areas for improvement in work processes, and to implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
