- Work with the Head Chef to develop seasonal pastry menus.
- Create innovative new desserts or pastry items to add to the menu.
- Ensure that each pastry is prepared and finished to the required standard.
- Maintain high standards for consistency in texture, taste, and visual presentation.
- Regularly inspect pastries for proper appearance and taste.
- Keep track of the stock of ingredients and ensure timely ordering.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the pastry section.
- Ensure pastries are prepared in time for service, especially for busy periods like breakfast, afternoon tea, or special events.
- Adhere to hygiene standards and food safety regulations, ensuring all equipment is maintained and cleaned regularly.
Requirements:
- Certificate from a recognized culinary institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge on pastry methods and skills, such as dough preparation, cake decorating, sugar work, and chocolate tempering.
- Precision is crucial in pastry making, whether in measurements, baking times, or decoration.
- Knowledge in Production flow and equipment usage.
