Technical Responsibilities
- Ensures all modelling and draughting activities are completed within allocated schedule and budgeted hours. Efficiently and effectively manages multiple tasks independently and in a multi-disciplinary team. Communicates with the design team members daily and seeks guidance to prevent undue delay and ensure success of the project. Assist the team in other ad-hoc as and when required.
- Utilises Autodesk MEP or CADWorx Plant, and AutoCAD computer aided design (CAD) software. Performs 3D modelling of cable tray, junction boxes and panels and maintains clash free models. Prepares CAD drawings complete with Bill of Material (BOM) as directed. Adheres to International Codes of Practice and industry standards.
- Prepare material take-off (MTO) lists, cable schedules, loop diagrams, junction box termination drawings, instrumentation hook-up drawings and electrical power supply system for field instruments.
- Review of P&ID, project documents and vendor drawings or documents.
- Be responsible for technical correctness of own deliverables. Ensures output is completed on time, on budget, and exceeding quality standards.
- Assists in design reviews and participate in other discipline reviews as appropriate. Ensures incorporation of all cable tray layout-related review comments. Detailed review of drawings for scope and presentation, including checking of own and others’ work for technical accuracy and adherence to company standards.
- Adheres to and complies with design procedures and standards and provides constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Identifies potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Ensures effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development.
- Participates in internal audits and investigations as required.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships internally. Engages with inter-discipline community and promotes networking and knowledge sharing
Job Requirements
- Higher Nitec in Electrical Engineering or Offshore & Marine Engineering Design or Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from an accredited college
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in designing of refinery, petrochemical, chemical, power or pharmaceutical plants.
- Familiar with international codes and standards
- Autodesk MEP or CadWorx Plant & Navisworks familiarity
- Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams
- Site experience is an added advantage
- Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyse problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects
- Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels
