Job Summary:
The position is based in Singapore and reports directly to the Head of Legal, APAC. The successful candidate will be a vital member of the legal team, providing comprehensive legal support across various FEED and EPC projects within the region. This role involves advising key stakeholders on diverse legal issues, leading the Singapore legal team, and ensuring the successful execution of projects
Job Scope:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements related to FEED/EPC projects.
- Offer legal advice to business teams on project bids, potential risks, and other critical matters.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
- Identify and advise on legal risks, providing recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Oversee litigation and other contentious matters in the region.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in creating policies, guidelines, legal templates, and documentation to support best practices.
- Coordinate with and manage external legal counsel.
- Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures as required by the leadership team
Requirement:
- Bachelor of Legislative Laws/Master of Law with 3-7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Bar qualification from a Commonwealth jurisdiction, ideally Singapore.
- In-house legal experience in the EPC, utilities, power, or infrastructure sectors is preferred, but experience in a construction or projects-focused law firm is also beneficial.
- Exposure to project execution and dispute resolution is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a multinational setting is advantageous, and familiarity with Japanese corporate culture is a plus.
