[What you will be working on]

Marketing

As our marketing specialist for Japan and Southeast Asia (SEA), you will work as part of the team, with EDB’s International Operations, PR manager and appointed marketing agencies, to drive and execute an integrated marketing strategy to raise awareness of Singapore and generate and nurture leads amongst the business communities in Japan and SEA.

Main responsibilities:

• Develop the GTM plan for Japan and SEA based on understanding of EDB’s business and marketing objectives, including annual planning and management of budget for the execution of marketing work plans 

• Manage the day-to-day operations and reporting of in-market marketing initiatives, including paid media campaigns, events and other ATL and BTL initiatives

• Undertake content curation, layout and production of EDB’s in-market publications and website. This includes the identification of topics of interest or trending topics among target audience, and optimisation of workflows with vendors for content production and website maintenance

• Planning and management of physical, virtual or hybrid events organised by EDB

• Identify and coordinate with key multiplier organisations (including tax consultancies, inter-governmental and trade organisations) on joint-marketing initiatives to seed our key messages and generate leads

• Manage internal and relevant external stakeholders. This includes EDB’s appointed marketing agencies on the development and execution of EDB’s marketing strategy, and servicing business enquiries from new clients by sharing relevant marketing resources

• Support product owner of Event Management System GevMe to set up platform and train new EDB users

• Depending on the candidate’s interests and experience, there are opportunities to also develop our marketing strategy and campaigns for global sectors like tech founders and other geographies.

[What we are looking for]

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be: 

• A university degree in any discipline

• Minimum 5 years relevant working experience. Candidates should have proven track record working in similar capacity, preferably with experience with the Japan market

• Results-oriented, with high level of initiative, drive and resourcefulness

• Fast and independent learner who can learn on-the-job and deliver quality work with limited supervision

• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate well with different stakeholders

• Able to manage multiple projects while keeping to deadlines

• Fluent in written and spoken Japanese (at least JLPT N2 or equivalent) to effectively nuance our in-market messages

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as virtual communications software (including Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

• Singaporean

It would be preferred if candidate has the following:

• Strong familiarity and prior knowledge of Singapore  

• Work experience in B2B/ G2B marketing

[What you will be working on]

You will work closely with colleagues in EDB (e.g. Industry Groups, Industry Manpower  Division) and officers from other government agencies. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Understanding the energy supply chain and potential disruptions. 

• Developing the energy supply and distribution operational plans and pandemic preparedness plans. 

• Liaising with other government agencies and key industry partners to improve the energy supply chain resilience. 

• Supporting the management of additional resources appointed by EDB to audit and inspect EDB managed worksites. 

In addition, you will be involved in other Energy & Chemical (E&C) Industry Development work. You will work closely with internal teams in EDB, other government agencies, trade associations and companies. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Drive the industry development programs to ensure Singapore remains competitive for the E&C sector.

• Support in land master planning.

To meet the challenges of the role, you will have to:

• Stay informed about global and regional developments impacting energy supply and pandemic-related policies that companies are required to comply with.

• Understand the operations of inter-agency taskforces, establishing connections with key contacts across agencies for energy security and pandemic related issues. 

• Possess knowledge of how E&C industries work. 

• Be well-versed in the roles of various government agencies, trade associations and companies involved in energy supply, pandemic-related and E&C issues.

• Demonstrate adaptability to address to diverse work requirements, often with short timeframes, and effectively communicate instructions or changes to officers and/or counterparts in agencies. 

• Be able to be rostered to work during weekends during emergencies. 

[What we are looking for] 

• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in coordinating large-scale projects across multiple stakeholders, including government agencies

• Supply Chain Management experience is preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken 

• Strong organisational and data management skills

• Self-motivated and positive attitude, excellent work ethic and a team player 

• Singaporean
