Job Description

• Assist in preparing ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes or chef’s instructions.
• Prepare and cook according to our food menu.
• Assist with cooking food to the right consistency and taste.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by cleaning workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Ensure that all food storage areas are clean and organized.
• Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils as needed.
• Help with menu planning and preparation as directed by the head cook or chef.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen inventory by keeping track of supplies.
• Report low stock levels to the supervisor to ensure ingredients are ordered in a timely manner.
• Assist the head cook or chef with any additional tasks as needed, such as setting up for special events or catering orders.

Job Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred, but not always required.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Ability to handle and store food safely according to health and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and food prep areas.
• Familiarity with proper food storage techniques and expiration dates.
