Job Position Summary
The Operation and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the repair, maintenance, and operational efficiency of all machinery, vehicles, and equipment within the organization. This role involves implementing cost control measures, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Track and control costs while ensuring efficient use of materials
- Prepare detailed reports on buying trends and site requirements to support informed decision-making
- Monitor inventory levels and manage the orders of new items to maintain optimal stock levels and support project timelines
- Ensure store compliance with regulatory standards and practices related to health, safety, and the environment
- Review and improve current planning, storage method and organizing of inventory to enhance efficiency
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of machinery, vehicles, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Manage the renewal of Insurances, Road Tax, VPC and other related documents for vehicles and machineries.
- Develop and optimize maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and control costs
- Develop strategies to use resources effectively and support operational goals
- Lead the department to achieve company goals and improve overall efficiency
- Foster the growth of department staff through mentorship, training and professional development
- Develop detailed costing and budgeting plans to manage financial resources effectively and support project profitability
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related field)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance management within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of driving performance and achieving organizational goals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
