The Services required include but are not restricted to the following:

• Ordering and preparation of ingredients and equipment for practical lessons in the food labs
• General cleaning and maintenance of the food labs
• Checking, collating, ordering and receiving of ingredients from supplier
• All other duties as required by the Authority

The Personnel should preferably have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

· A PSLE Certification or equivalent

· 1 year of experience as Food Lab Assistant in the Food Lab in schools.

· Follow Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

· Mondays to Fridays: 6.30am to 5:30pm (at least 4 hours per day), inclusive of paid 0.5hr lunch break

· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

· Service not required during home based learning days and school holidays unless required by the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and formulate beverage prototype based on projects, industrial standards and country-specific requirements.
• Handle and lead beverage application projects such coffee, tea, dairy, plant-based, carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, energy drinks, flavored water and alcoholic beverages.
• Handle lab process equipment including UHT, aseptic filler, homogenizer, carbonator, hot water bath, autoclave and high shear mixer.
• Good understanding of product heat treatment for different beverage categories to ensure product safety.

• Strong sensory skills to evaluate and select appropriate flavors.

Job Scope

• Pack raw meat and prepare for shipping
• Cut & prepare raw meat for packing according to order received
• Preparing frozen raw meat for packing
• Pick up heavy goods (raw meat) from delivery
• Cleaning walk-in freezer/cold room where meat has been stored
• Monitor & supervise other raw meat-handling workers & assist where required
