The department oversees the physical development and maintenance of all University buildings and grounds in support of the academic, research and administrative functions of the University. As the Assistant Manager, Building & Facilities Maintenance, you are responsible for the management of the building and building services in the Academic/Residential Zones to ensure they are functional at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and supervise maintenance activities to ensure inspection programmes and preventive maintenance works are carried out as planned and in accordance with standards expected. Follow up promptly on corrective maintenance works to minimise downtime and maintain a safe environment.

• Manage and supervise daily and cyclical cleaning programs, conduct regular inspections and monthly performance assessment to ensure cleaning standards are met.    

• Manage upgrading and improvement works, understand scope and requirements, develop work proposals and estimate associated costs. Oversee procurement of services, supervise work progress and ensure materials and workmanship meet standards. Review and track site progress through meetings and inspections to meet user’s project completion timeline.

• Manage and supervise BCA periodic structural and façade inspections conducted by appointed Qualified Person according to planned schedule and follow up with rectification of identified defects.

Responsibilities

• Custodian for assessment/result records for undergraduate students.

• Coordinate within the office and with Schools/Colleges/Institutions to ensure timely and accurate capture of records arising from various activities according to timelines and guidelines set, as well as in compliance with policies and procedures.

• Manage the examination system and mark entry system, and processes for undergraduate students.

• Oversee the setup of relevant database for mark entry and marks processing, where students’ progress and performance are determined and captured at the end of every semester.
