Sr Manager, Membership & Quality Management

The vision of Star Alliance is “to be the leading global alliance for the high-value international traveler and the mission of the organization is “to contribute to the long-term profitability of its members beyond their capabilities.” The Star Alliance office in Singapore coordinates the global activities of the alliance including managing joint projects on behalf of its 26 member airlines.
Based in Singapore, the Senior Manager, Membership & Quality Management is a critical leadership position that will play a critical role in delivering the value provided by Star Alliance to the member airlines. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in commercial, operational, and technical functions within the airline industry.
Job Summary
Membership
- Manage the Star Alliance Membership Portfolio of Full Star Alliance Members, Connecting and Intermodal Partners.
- Manage the implementation of business objectives and governance guidelines into day-to-day processes with the members.
- Prepare and conduct the Membership Liaison and Quality Committee, a key governance forum
- Management of Expert Communities in cross-functional business areas (Data analytics, Marketing/Brand, and commercial functions)
- Coordinating the full lifecycle management of Star Alliance members, from new carrier integrations, lifecycle, and exits of members.
- Planning membership entry and exit projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain collaborative working procedures between Members and the Star Alliance management organization.
- Manage and develop the intra-alliance collaboration tools (Today: StarDesk), including Vendor, IT, procurement, implementation, and lifecycle management.
Business Development
- Manage the overall implementation of business-related compliance requirements for the Star Alliance Members.
- Manage the implementation and distribution of the annual release & publication of Star Alliance Core Values & Standards and the Customer Reference Guide
Quality Management
- Continuously monitor compliance adherence by Star Alliance members through central measurements and annual audits.
- Conduct the planning, organization, reporting and follow-up of member airline audits and passenger journey inspections.
- Continuous review and improvement of the Core Values & Standards, compliance management, and audit concept.
Your Profile
- University business degree, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Overall knowledge of the airline & aviation industry in strategic areas, airline corporate functions, quality management, and airline-industry related business functions.
- Advanced knowledge of airline partner and alliance management structures through all levels of collaboration.
- Effective communication and experienced in partner relationship management.
- Competent in negotiation and conflict management.
- Able to cope with time pressure, ability to work with speed, independently and in teams.
- Highly organized and self-motivated to meet critical deadlines by balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- High service philosophy and professional working attitude with attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
- Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to interact appropriately with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in multiple stakeholder management an advantage.
- Able to travel worldwide.
- High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders.
