Job Description

The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Undergraduate Studies Section, Dean's Office, Faculty of Science. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

1) Faculty Co-ordinator for timetabling

• Keep abreast of Science Faculty Curriculum Committee (SFCC)/Board of Undergraduate Studies (BUS)/University Committee on Educational Policy (UCEP)/Senate approved proposals to facilitate planning and scheduling of classes and examinations.
• Coordinate with departments for planning of following academic year's timetable in the Class and Examination Timetabling System (CMIS).
• Update class and examinations timetable changes as and when required.
• Work with departments to verify accuracy of data and resolve any issues for the purpose of Student Feedback Exercise.

2) Pre-examination preparation and during examination support

• Plan and coordinate examination activities for each Academic Year according to the timelines and deadlines stipulated by Registrar's Office.
• Coordinate system updates for examinations related information and ensure data is appropriately entered.
• Act as liaison between Registrar's Office and departments to ensure that all necessary information are disseminated and shared with all parties involved.
• See to the examinations logistical requirements as well as arrangements for students with special needs.

3) Post-examination activities

• Coordinate and work closely with departments to complete the necessary checks and comply with the examinations processing schedule stipulated by Registrar's Office.
• Perform the duties of Faculty's Board of Examiners Secretariat and ensure that decisions made are updated accurately and quickly in Edurec and followed through.
• Plan, conduct and prepare report for examinations audit.

4) Undergraduate Studies Section duties

• To be rostered for section duties such as taking notes of regular section meetings, replying to email enquiries from students, and counter duties.

5) Others

• Provide assistance at University/Faculty level events such as Open House, Freshmen Orientation Briefing, and Commencement.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Vice Dean.

Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info

• Degree holder with positive learning attitude.
• Experience in timetabling and scheduling will be advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with multiple timelines and demands.
• Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
• Mature, independent, adaptive and meticulous.
• A team player with the ability to interact well with all levels of stakeholders.

- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.

Assistant Head / Teacher in the following subject: Physics & Engineering

We are looking for candidates who possess a relevant professional teaching qualification (or Post-Graduate Diploma Education equivalent) and

· have a passion in the relevant teaching subjects and inspire students to love the subjects via teaching and role modelling

· can participate and contribute to the planning, development and teaching of an integrated 6-year curriculum in the relevant teaching subjects

· are effective within and outside the classroom, adopt innovative pedagogies such as IT-enabled learning, differentiated learning, collaborative learning and learner-focused interaction

· can initiate and mentor research projects

· are able to provide for the learning needs and character development of high-ability learners ranging from 12+ to 18 years of age

· are able to contribute as an effective Co-curricular Activities (CCA) teacher and form-teacher

Requirements:

· A good Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Physics or Engineering

· Competent in teaching Physics at GCE O-Level content or GCE A-Level H2 content

· Knowledge in Astronomy and able to support Astronomy CCA will be an advantage.

· Driven and able to support Head of Department to lead the department in designing, implementing and evaluating an integrated 6-year Physics & Engineering curriculum

· Research experience in Physics or Engineering areas and ability to guide students in research projects will be advantageous

· Driven and able to lead the department in implementing and enriching Mother Tongue curriculum

· Able to collaborate with key personnel, stakeholders and external partners in curriculum development and strategic planning

· Experience in curriculum and/or management work in secondary schools or junior colleges would be advantageous

• Continuously seek out and adapt latest and most appropriate instructional design and learning technology techniques, theories and methodologies to create unique and engaging content to meet the needs of our target audience.

• Identify competencies gaps and various learning activities for the Future of Work.

• Ability to conduct stand up training will be an advantage.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have the following

• A Degree with minimum 3 or more years of relevant experience in the areas of Organisation Development & Learning, including design of learning intervention and evaluation of training programmes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Familiar with digital learning tools and platforms.

• Must be prepared to be hands-on.
