Job Purpose
To lead a team to manage the operations and maintenance of station and depot escalators and lift, ensuring quality of work and deliverables are following contractual requirements and compliance with statutory requirement, SMRT rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- To lead a team and manage contractors performing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of the Escalator, Lift and Travellator equipment in Depot and SMRT stations.
- Execute all works in compliance with Work Procedures, Work Instructions, Work Safety Manual/ Procedures, Quality Procedures and Statutory Codes of Practice.
- Be the liaison officer for incident/ accident investigation by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and Land Transport Authority (LTA), coordinating on-site works and provide updates.
- Assist in Audit and Inspection for both internal and external parties.
- Mentor and impart knowledge and skills to junior staff.
- Person-In-Charge to supervise the maintenance or repair work carried out by contractors. Ensure work carried out meets the expected standards and quality.
- Attend to permit-to-work by contractors and SMRT internal departments.
- Responsible to plan for the monthly work schedule.
- Carry out the necessary data entries as required in the maintenance management system.
- Ensure all maintenance records are properly documented and filed.
- Practice safe and proper housekeeping.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in maintenance of electrical/mechanical machinery/equipment, preferably in lift/ escalator industry.
Skills
- Able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Able to read simple electrical circuitry and engineering drawing.
- Be self-motivated, resourceful and organized.
- Able to work independently and lead by example.
- Possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and ability to work in and as a team.
- Has experience and is confident in managing contractor.
