Job Description:
- Manage and streamline the supply chain for plants and landscaping materials, ensuring efficient and timely delivery.
- Be responsible for the control, management and deployment of logistics assets and manpower across different departments and locations
- Recruit, hire, train, and schedule logistics staff and assets according to operational requirements, focusing on productivity improvement and cost reduction
- Schedule and oversee transportation of plants and supplies, optimizing routes and working with drivers to meet delivery deadlines
- Lead and develop a logistics team, providing guidance on best practices in handling plant and landscape supplies, as well as training on safety and logistics systems.
- Ensure that logistics assets are well-maintained, in good condition, and used effectively
- Utilise digital tools to optimise procedures and processes
- Forecast demand on logistics and plan accordingly
- Collaborate with sales and project teams to plan logistics based on client needs and project timelines.
- Establish and maintain proper record keeping to track productivity and standards
- Prepare accurate reports for upper management
- Arrange for, supervise and manage external logistics vendors as required
- Handle customer service enquiries pertaining to the fulfilment of customer deliveries
- Develop internal processes and SOPs to improve efficiency within the organisation
- Manage warehousing operations to improve overall efficiency of logistics function
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, horticulture or minimum of 3 years’ relevant industry experience
- Experience in logistics, preferable in plants or landscaping supplies
- Possess leadership abilities, able to lead own team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of plant handling
- Valid Singaporean Class 3 driving license is a must, experience with commercial vehicles a plus. Driving record should be clean with no major traffic infringements in recent times.
- Computer-savvy, working knowledge of logistics software (ERP) a bonus
